The UNSC wouldn't need to unlock any of the truly epic forerunner tech, just enough to be able to produce their own plasma beam weapons or somesuch

In response to 3, Infinity's quad MACs put a nice hole in MA, though it did little more than act as entry for chief. MA is honestly just extremely OP though so there was really no way to conventionally kill it.

Problem is, several forerunner ships depicted in the Greg Bear books had the same hard light construction and repaired themself on the fly as long as they had enough mass. But forerunner ships, such as the one left for didact on Earth, were also defeated by other ships equipped with DEWs. So in order to be prepared for more forerunner incursions the UNSC should look into uppgrading offensive firepower. Maybe a few cruisers with Splasers?
