What happened to the spirit of fire, im wondering if some corner of the internet hides the answer, i know 343 has said they have considered doing something, so did ensemble in a halo wars 2 but ensemble closed down. But ive heard nothing, so since its so iconic and Sotp has such a great model of that ship class, i thought what the heck, lets talk about it.
The disaperance of a small halo icon

It is officially lost with all hands, as designated by the UNSC.
I am sure it will turn up at some point though because of the S-IIs onboard.

Exactly so that's why id like to see at some point it reappear
and for entertainments sake, what if it just randomly reappear and like smashed into infinity on accident and that's how it dies....

Time to crush some dreams...
Frank O'Connor, the current Franchise Development Director for 343i and former Bungie employee, was super pissed that Microsoft forced Halo Wars on them. The engine was designed and a whole universe existed on the game before it was turned into Halo Wars. Frank controls the Halo franchise now. The storyline for Halo Wars is completely disconnected from the rest of the Halo universe, probably deliberately from the beginning, in that Halo can go on without a conclusion for it. It's unlikely he's going to do anything with the Spirit of Fire given how opposed he was to it existing at all. It may eventually get resolved in a comic book or some other small media, when they're not pushing stuff out to support a current game, but I very seriously doubt it.

Yup, this has been issue we've discussed previously.
Considering O'Connor's distaste of the storyline and how well-off the UNSC is during the post-war period, I don't see a reason why 343i would feel compelled to bring them back.

Uni's right on the money. They'll likely try to tie up loose ends in other forms of media while focusing on their current plot.

I'd be fine with just a reference about it being found or destroyed or something like that. But with the S-IV program absorbing other spartans having the S-IIs on SoF annoys me.

i agree with kheva, they need to tie up lose ends, how they will do it is probably via small media like what uni said.

good point... they were in the middle of nowhere, so it is more plausible to have them die... maybe in halo 5 when the elites are on our side again (i hope) they will refrence blowing up a random ship in the middle of nowhere before the treaty but i don't expect it.
