I noticed last night that all UNSC ships have to stop to fire their MAC's. Is that intentional? I tried to do a fleet slash where we Cavalry charge through the Covie battlegroup and swing wide around the planet to lure them into SMAC's. Sadly I didnt realize how the MAC's worked at first and this just cost me my fleet.

So again, Is that an intentional choice for game Balance? Lore reasons?

I think its hard coded in game for some reason.

UNSC ships Could definitely hit ships whilst moving, (halo 3 charge), Reach canyon, and most of the space actions.

They do not have to stop to fire. Sins however stops the ship at the range of its furthest reaching weapon.

You'll also notice that the MAC isn't always perpendicularly fired. That's sad, I know, but that's some sort of hard-coded stuff.

We already know why it does that.

I am refering to maybe letting the fleet stop. Fire. and then immediately telling them to move in that maneuver I am describing. its a little more Micro then just flying through them. But it shouldn't be unreasonable. The hardest thing is not wasting MAC shots. Lots of little Micros to make sure every ship or two is on a different target.

If you are facing the AI you can use the pause/break key to help with that. If you dont have that key just change the key binding.

Well the fun in any RTS is PVP,  So I need to learn to do it quickly against players.
