But it's not only the power of the station, the station itself is as tiny as an SDV, and it's made special for an occasion

Not even built by the covenant, it was built by covenant remnant and with help of the New Colonial Alliance

What does the size have to do with anything?  Its around the size of an SMAC platform.  I'd argue its actually perfect size for an orbital structure.  That being said it seems to me that Infinity may not outclass the upper tier Covenant vessels as much as we thought.  So much for Karen Traviss' (and by extension Admiral Parangosky's) gratuitous wank for Infinity being the most powerful vessel since the age of the Forerunners.  Hell even the CAS has a far better track record.

We don't even know the whole story. Why don't we save the speculation for later when we actually know what really happened. Besides there will be no Covenant defensive station in this mod. The covenant fleet has been designed to allow the play to keep a defensive fleet and move that fleet around to immediately counter any attack. Whether or not the covenant will have a defensive station is not, I repeat not up for discussion.

Why are you so against discussion?  If we can't discuss things why even have a forum except for collective praise, which the moddb has plenty of.  Also wasn't the mod team was discussing earlier adding planetary defenses which would hardly be different than adding orbital structures balance wise.  Also, one way it could be implemented is making it only deployable in asteroid fields, magnetic clouds, plasma storms and gas giants.

Stark, read back a page and Uni clearly details the reasons why the defence platform won't be in. No-one else wants to discuss it but you, everyone else is happy with the design choice and the reasons for it. I appreciate you've been away for a while so you probably missed the post I'm referring to but it's on this thread, which is only three pages long. Go and see what I'm talking about and then please stop pushing for it before people start getting really pissed off.

I read his post, and I also read that he specifically says "its not a definite no, its just at the bottom of the list".  I respect that, and I'm not pushing anything.  I'm just discussing possibilities.  If people read my post they'd realize I stated that it could be a possible Covenant space station specifically for stationing in asteroid fields.

This is fair criticism of us. People, especially fans, have a right to discuss things and flesh out ideas. Just because someone is posting doesn't mean people have to respond. The team has stated their opinions on the subject so it's not really necessary to respond unless something becomes relevant or you actually want to add to the continued discussion. I think 1) everyone came down to hard on Stark and 2) Stark is coming off a little too brash. I will say this: Lord Stark, you have a history of beating an idea to death. You're a fan and you're obviously welcome here, but keep in mind that you can rub people's feathers the wrong way and that will in turn make it hard for people to accept your ideas on merit alone.

I really don't think the team needs to come in and fight about every issue once we've stated our views on it, other than the CSO. We can let the users have discussions about it without intervening or nannying. Obligatory "who knows, maybe they'll make a point we hadn't considered and cause us to reconsider the whole thing.png"

I think it's because argumentatively I'm a huge bitch. Like Uni said, the team doesn't need the stress arguing over this would cause. No means no. This is exactly why you got banned.

Do the Covenant have any proximity mines to add to defense?

No. Covenant don't use mines.

I did beat that one issue to death, but from reading the moddb as soon as I dropped that torch 10,000 newbs picked it up.  I appreciate the welcome.  :)  I don't mean to come off as brash all the time.
