I had a question about the different halcyons in the game. The normal crusier halcyon, does it fire 3 times? or is that only for the Refit capital ship? Also when it says X damage for the MAC weapon, is that per shot? or is the damage dispersed per shot so X damage per attack? just wondering since i see things like destroyers, Marathons shooting multiple times if each one of those does 100 damage or if they each do 50 damage he just fires twice.

If the case is indeed that they do 100 damage per shot rather than 100 damage for the entire attack, it might be useful in the description of the vessel to put how many MAC guns they have or how many times they shoot. That might be tactical knowledge that is a deciding factor in what ship to use.

Actually I think they all fire 1 shot per attack until it recharges but after a few upgrades, they start firing at a faster rate which is all shooting 3/attack

So, the shooting effect on ships is completely unrelated to the damage done. Ships that we know have two MACs we set to have a "burst count" of 2. The damage we set for all ships is entirely based on one default we've (read: I've) decided on, which is that Halcyon Cruisers do 1000 damage per shot. They have a 12 second cooldown between shots (rate of fire). The damage you see listed (apparently 100) is the overal damage per second (DPS) of the weapon.

All UNSC MAC damage is based of the Halcyon's stats. All frigates do 500 damage, but their rate of fire differs depending on what we want the role of the ship to be. Paris class frigates have the same cooldown as Halcyon as they are seen as the premiere frigate. Marathon cruisers have 2 MACs so they have twice the rate of fire than the Halcyon, meaning they do double DPS. I'll stop here, because raw DPS isn't something we really want to come into play in the mod, but if you know your UNSC ships from the canon then you'll have a good understanding of our mod.

Thank you, that actually makes total sense. The Halcyon refit shoots three times, each doing 1000 damage. Recharge rate at 12 seconds = 250 damage/s which is what is listed on the card. Repeat for all ships. Thank you for clearing this up

Well, actually the Refit fires shredder rounds, which are less powerful individually. She does 2400 damage and fires a three round burst every 10 seconds due to the improved reactor. But yeah, it's all derived from the base Halcyon stats.

I remember that was the big thing the Pillar of Autumn had. Its reactors were able to charge the MAC to fire three smaller projectiles before it needed to charge. Which worked since the first two would destroy the shield or cause minimal damage while the third would gut the ship from stem to stern.
