Alright ladies and gentlemen, we are going to be opening up voice over opportunities to the public. Here is how this is going to work:

 

 

 

Selection Process:

 

• All submitted content will be reviewed by the Homefront Devs (Zero, Didact and  McChaffe)
• If the Devs deem the VO worthy of being in the mod, then it will get implemented.
• If there are multiple entries deemed worthy, we will leave it to a community vote.

Guidelines for VOs:

 

All ships will require a response for these commands/orders:

 

• Idle Selection
• Death
• Enemy Encounter (spotting an enemy ship)
• Movement
• Attack Move
• Slipspace Jump
• Guarding
• Forming into a fleet

 

The Prowler requires a few extra VO commands:

 

• Engaging Stealth
• Deactivating Stealth
• Laying Mines

 

Fighters/Bombers require a few extra VO commands:

 

• General Radio Chatter
• General Dog Fight Chatter

 

Submitting VOs:

 

Either message me with a link, or post a link as a reply to this. Please specify which ship you are submitting for.

 

 

Final Comments:

 

Get creative guys. I'm not going to give you any lines to say at all for ships, they just need to fit the guidelines. I personally want anyone who submits a VO to have fun making it.

 

Also if you want to edit your VO with filters before sending them, go for it. If not then I'll use filters on them accordingly to get them sounding good in-game.

No stupid fake accents and no stupid voice changing. We're looking for natural voices and not a fake one. If you sound butch and gruff, cool, but don't force it.

Hmmmm... How does one do this?

Download Audacity, get into a quiet environment, have a half decent headet with a Mic (don't use you laptops inbuilt mic) and record some lines. Export them as a .wav or .ogg or whatever you like and then upload them somewhere. I use Dropbox.

I would like to try the Narwhal or on the some of the general radio chatter. I also have a more concerning question, you don't have a script for this correct? And we would per say, "make something up" or be more specific, be creative? I really like to give it a shot as I always loved the voice acting in most mods I play in RTS games.

May I please try a British accent, I doubt that my normal preteen voice would work, but my British preteen voice just might work.

EDIT: Just tried saying a few lines in a deeper than normal voice and it works.

Basically yes, responses and submissions tend to be better when people are creative. Go ahead and try whatever you want for an UNSC ship. You can submit multiple VOs for every ship as many times as you want.
