Name says it all, we would like to reintroduce some vanilla maps into the mod. But what maps those are, that is up to you!

Comment below if you would like to have vanilla maps brought back under SotP special planets. Tell us if you'd like them again in SotP or would rather have us go on without them for whatever reason. If you like the idea and want to see them come back, comment whatever maps you would like to see reworked and we will see what happens!

If it's possible could you reintroduce all of the vanilla maps? I personally enjoy the larger maps for longer games and generally larger battles.  But in the current public release I'd have to settle for a random galaxy.  While its great in that using the random maps nothing is the same, I do miss a few like Battles Lanes.  I'll be looking over the vanilla maps to see what I really miss though :P

Personally, above all others, I'd like to see the inclusion of the map "Gateway." It's a map that I play most commonly (& is the basis for maps that i Galaxy forge)

Systems of War.  4 players each one starts in their own star with 4 other planents and can either go straight for a kill shot or take the center and build a powerful fleet which is always fun

When I die, please bury me deep! Place an MA5 down by my feet! Don't cry for me, don't shed no tear! Just pack my box with PT gear! 'Cuz one early morning 'bout zero five! The ground will rumble, there'll be lightning in the sky! Don't you worry, don't come undone! It's just my ghost on a PT run!”

Cole, please don't pull your "well I think this map needs this improvement!!!" bullshit with the vanilla maps. If the idea here is to recreate them since the transition from vanilla is beyond salvaging due to planet differences please make them the same as they were.

This is basically already done. I can't remember the name of the map but this map is essentially already in.

Anywho, I agree with pretty much everything stated here. What I want above all else are the random planetary entities back. Shattered moon, ice storm, comet, etc. Give space the desolation and lifelessness it truly deserves. Always bothered me that every other planet you find is a colonizable that is very useful to your war effort/agenda. Put in some that are detrimental or that cannot be colonized. Could provide for interesting fleet battles and would make each victory actually matter and certain gravity wells strategically important rather than "onto the next slugfest!". Plasma storms and asteroid fields get boring after a while. Also, that ship graveyard would be cool. Maybe "Abandoned Forerunner Shipbreaking Yards" or something. Make it able to deploy multiple space stations or something but nothing else. It would be a neat little addition to the game, I think. Basically just an outpost that would cost you credits to set up (in the form of tax costs).

Yeah, no. That's totally unreasonable for us to do. Way too much work when this week we've already announced we're having to rebuild the mod's coding from the ground up. We have to go through each map individually and re-add our own version of those planets. Name the maps you want if people keep asking for the same stuff it'll be prioritized. (So like comments here with maps you want back so we know it's more than just one fella.)

Excellent point. Cole, when you see this try to fix that asap.

@Crisiss

@Uni

I can do most of those things, anything I can't is strictly because the rebuild would get rekt if I did commit it in. I'll take a look around, start mixing up some planet types placed in the maps to make them viable, assuming I understood your point here. If you're saying to introduce more planet types, again, for the time being that would break the mod, and its a bit more... complicated (for reasons explained via PM), but you would more than likely only see them post rebuild.

Gateway would be a good addition to Sotp(maybe needs a few tweaks). Gateway has those all important bottlenecks that is important to sotps fast paced gameplay.

Im excited to do this map, and if it is acceptable, im pondering making a SotP remake of the map that has some more optimizations (the base remake would still be there, this would be another version). With gateway instead being either a Halo or a Shield world. Or, I can slap those in the base remake if the community feels that they would prefer that.

If it isn't too much work, I would certainly enjoy the tweaked Gateway you propose Cole.

While I like this idea, adding in these entities into SotP (they were never in SotP to begin with), will have to wait until the planet rehaul comes around.

How would this break the game if it is part of vanilla? None of these are new.

Edit: nevermind, just saw lavos post. Disregard.

Allow me to explain. SotP was converted to Rebellion well before the addition of the Stellar Phenomena DLC. As a result the entites are not present in either the entity.manifest nor the GSD.

Hyperion's gates was a fun map, so was systems at war, and there was one that had lots of small and multiple systems (if I recall, the systems were linked by wormholes as well)
