Pleasure to be of your acquaintance everyone. I look forward to getting some games in and helping test out what I consider to be one of the most promising SOSE mods currently in development!

Not MontgomeryPants? You're going on the unpatriotic list, boy-o.

Also welcome, nice to meet you.

Hitler let him take a cyanide capsule in exchange for his family's safety.

And? As if being made to kill oneself by one's own country isn't degrading.

being told to kill yourself by your country is pathetic

being told to kill yourself for your country is kinda stupid

BUT, sacrificing yourself for your country, without being asked, is ok

Rommel understood from the beginning of the war that it was futile. The reason he moved so quickly at the beginning of the war and cut a swath through the center of France was because it would reduce casualties on both sides. The guy seriously made the best out of everything that was given to him, even if he was a logistical failure as a commander. You guys are acting like there was a third option besides kill yourself and spare your family or be murdered and let your family die. His decision was about as honorable as it gets, regardless of how disgusting it was that a government made him choose.

If all of your arguments are going to be tautologies, at least have the courtesy to tell the other people involved that their efforts are futile from the beginning.

With something as petty as this, what were you expecting?

Not really, Rommel was an honorable man who gave his life so his family could live without sharing the fate of so many others from that time. Id rather die for my family then send thousands of men off to their deaths in ill advised campaigns.

"Because I'm completely illogical," is more concise.

I also don't see how the nature of his death reflects upon his abilities as a commander.

Anywho, /endofftopic

I think the OP has been sufficiently greeted.

Since when were we discussing his ability as a commander?
