Hello!

First off; this mod is fantastic! Gods bless you amazing people for adding so much replay value to a game I already love. I had an issue, and I'm Not sure if this is something that you folks could help me with but my problem is this: I will start a new single player game, and after about an hour of playing; the game will start to stutter. The only other way I can describe whats happening is what lag looks like during multiplayer games. its done this all 5 times I have started new games I have turned off Anti Aliasing and adjusted graphics down, and even just tried playing 1 on 1 with flood turned off and still to no avail. I was hoping someone might be able to give me a pointer or two on what else to try. I have an I-Buy power with an AMD 6300 six core processor, and a 2 GB AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series graphics card, and 8 GB RAM; So I would think I'm not having any performance issues due to inadequate hardware. Any thoughts? I appreciate any advice you can give.

Yeah, its a known Sins of a Solar Empire Issue. Sins is a native 32-bit application and it can only use a maximum of 2 GB of RAM. Also, it only ever uses one processor core. Nothing can really be done to fix this issue, but installing the Large Address Aware program that comes with the mod does help a bit.

P.S You posted this in the wrong place  ;)

Google how to specify a program to a single core. That will help with some of the lag if has a single core devoted to itself. When you hit lag you may also want to save your game, close the program and reload it. This ensures all memory leaks are dumped if you are encountering any. Turn your graphics back up, that's not the issue. Ultimately the game is old and 32 bit, so just something you have to deal with. How big are the matches you're making?

This. Also, ironically, your six-core processor may actually be underpowered when running Sins, again due to the fact that it only runs on one core (Less cores *may* equal better performance)

I guess that would depend on how powerful a single core is on a six core (they make those now? Here I am with my quad and am doing just fine).

Generally they're slower on a per-core basis than the quad-core ones are just due to heat and space concerns. In my experience at least...

Sins gets like that on all mods, no matter what you do, or what hardware you have.

Clearly you're Doing It Wrong ™

Are you playing on really large maps? I generally do get lag, but it happens more at like the 5 or so hour point, not 1.5
