Asking from pure curiosity, I was wondering what ya'lls favorite ships were. It could be for any reason; aesthetics, performance, utility, etc.

 

Mine are the DDS Carrier and Strident Class Frigate. Both for their looks. Though the both factions destroyers hold special places in my heart as well.

I'd have to say the Paris. As the effective "standard" UNSC ship, it's the first thing that comes to mind whenever I think "Halo" and "space." It just seems so classic.

UNSC Infinity and Mantle's Approach. My all time favorite ship class in the Halo universe is the Fortress-class. The sheer power and size described in the books are amazing.

Thermopylae-class super-carrier, because it's such a fantastic support vessel. It's the anchor for my fleets

Favourite UNSC Ships:

• Infinity class Warship - Cause its design is so damn beautiful
• Halcyon class Light Cruiser - The most well known class in the entire franchise if you are a fan from Combat Evolved
• Halberd class Destroyer - Heart of the Midlothian memories and another majestic design

Favourite Covenant Ships:

• CAS class Assault Carrier - Remember guys it's a "whale skeleton"
• CCS class Battlecruiser - I absolutely loved these things coming out of slipspace on Coastal Highway in Halo 3: ODST, that trembling noise it made was music to my ears
• RCS class Armoured Cruiser - Looks like something from a Mad Max film

Favourite Forerunner Ships:

• Mantle's Approach - 142.7 km!!!
• Keyship class Vessel - It was like fighting against Truth's Eiffel Tower in the middle of Africa
• Fortress class Vessel - Forerunner Saga memories

UNSC Light Destroyer, cause its got such an original design that totally doesn't look like a Frigate

In all seriousness though, I think the Mako needs a little bit of love. On the Covenant's side I'd have to choose the CaW Manta Ray (Covenant light frigate).

assuming we are talking in game... 
the Stalwart... because it can be effective in ship to ship combat with covenant ships of similar size and the AAA can obliterate the flood.

effectively enough of them can create and AAA phalanx which allows Carriers to launch bombers and wipe out the flood before they get in range... and if you match them with an Anchor base and some SMACs (strategically positioning them) and some Hangars with the AAA upgrade... you effectively create and unassailable position...


Canon wise... UNSC Valiant Class Superheavy... why you might ask?

Orion-class battlecruiser, actually.

 

Looks cool as hell and is ideal for taking down the Redemption-class, which is the bane of my life. The recommended lore strategy - of using them in pairs - works great, as long as I give them some destroyers and air support for backup.

I agree with the Orion, the ship's design fits perfectly with UNSC aesthetics and it fills a role that I've always thought the UNSC was stupidly lacking in cannon. The voice over annoyed me originally, felt that the tone of the Captain was a bit too informal, but I've grown to appreciate it as unique touch of personality that makes the ship further stand out. With the kills they rack up they can be as informal as they want!

 

Though to be fair all of the community designed ships in the mod are extremely high quality anyway.

The type of ship that goes boom when it shoots-- otherwise known as any UNSC ship, especially the Infinity.

Definitely the CAS. Something about several kilometers of pure deth floating in space in the Hundreds is oddly appealing. Has nothing to do with the fact 3 of them could take on the "Majestic" UNSC Infinity.

CCS hands down, it's been a favorite of mine since the Truth and Reconciliation from Halo CE.

 

Firepower is all well and good, but I prefer to have mobility as well.  So I go for cruisers rather than battleships.
