I'm excited after seeing the Zendikar spoilers, I was worried WoTC wouldn't feature the Eldrazi under the later part of the block. I'll definitely be getting back into M:TG.

 

I normally only pick up the dual decks with planeswalkers as the decks are normally made for new player accessibility rather than card value, so there's been some bad ones (Heroes Verses Monsters for Theros was particularly bad). But the new dual deck looks excellent, some really good commander cards, at a guess I would say reasonably valuable cards include Avenger of Zendikar (~£5), Stirring Wildwood (~£3, though it might go for a bit more as dual manlands are always popular in modern) and Primal Command (~£4), with Seer's Sundial and Scute Mob both being popular in Commander even though they're not worth much. And the Eldrazi decklist hasn't even been released yet, but you can bet they'll be worth a bit.

It's been revealed, if you go on the article and-

 

Wait a second...did they cut it out? What in hell? Bollocks. It was there when I first read it. I wonder why they cut it.

 

I also love how they made Eldrazi accessible. They aren't the too-expensive-to-play broken cards anymore, you can handle them better.

Of course, the Duel Deck came out today. Of course, it comes out TUESDAY here in Italy. FUCKING. HELL.

 

Anyway, got this beauty from today's FNM.

 

Oh, and my friend managed to find 12 boosters of Zendikar in a shop (a rarity indeed), so he bought all of them, and two of them he gave to me. He found some things, and a Goblin Guide too. I found her.

I have to clarify one point there: Mark Rosewater (if you don't know who he is, he's basically the chief of everything) confirmed there will be dual lands in BfZ, but they won't be fetch. It will be a new cycle entirely.

 

Player Rewards? Pffft HAHAHA no, sadly, no. Now we get planeswalker points, which, if I get enough of them, I can participate to a Pro Tour qualification. Wow. Like I can achieve that many (obviously, between the release of a set and its ProTour, so what....1 month? 2 Months?) and like I care about that. GIVE ME CARDS! PROMOS!

 

Anyway, I won that. I did an astoundingly 0-2-0-1 and got extracted as one fot he winners. As a great professor once said: "I'd rather be lucky than skilled any day of my life".

Battle for Zendikar preview panel happened.

 

And...uhm... basically...it's freaking awesome. My favourite set went from Original Zendikar, to Theros, and back again at Battle for Zendikar.

Bear in mind that the "Expedition" lands, i.e. the fetches and shocklands with a different set symbol, aren't legal in Standard.

Okay, I finally managed to put my hands on the Zendikar vs Eldrazi Duel Deck. Obviously it can be upgraded with my old Zendikar cards, but it's a solid buy. Gotta love those new cards from BfZ, and the Eldrazi deck plays reeeaaally well. Also, two spindown counters, yay! Although they don't have the awesome symbol of this duel deck on them, but the planeswlaker one. Like, come on WotC....I'm sure you don't spend much to make them, given that they're made in China and you make a bunch of them every year. It would've been a nice addition to my spindown collection...

Got a Gideon and that white multitarget o-ring. Pretty happy with myself. Got 2 extra packs and went 2-2 in the prerelease too. On Friday night, after FNM (!!)

You lucky bitch, with Theros rotating out, Gideon will take the place of Elspeth and will likely see major play. The multy-exiler is pretty strong, one used it against me and went 2-0 (I hadn't found any enchantment removal).

 

What deck did you use in the prerelease? I went for a Naya Ally (Zada is so cool!).

 

Also, thoughts on the new mechanics? I always supported Converge and found it extremely versatile, but my favourite is Awaken - it offers you so many possibilities, you can double pump your land AND it has haste!

So I don't really like how we're revisiting plane after plane, but holy shit it's Innistrad again! I didn't play it when the original came out, so you can bet I'm going to play this one!

I love Magic but I mainly play Commander by now.

 

I love my tri Green Blue White Angel themed deck with some nasty combos with Empyrial Archangel and Indestructibility slapped(with the help of some magic) on it!
