My friend, who is really experienced modder with a quite bright head is going to make a job from it, like you've done... While I shall not.

 

Even Punics can't hold so long, as wall of Halcyons. I see Epoch-class as an expensive ship with large amount of HPs and armor, but less than capital's. They are weaker than Punics, but not so overnumbered as Halcyons. They can't effectively tank anything, but incoming waves of small crafts and small pack of non-capital ships. 

The mods are not paid to mod. They haven't made a job from it, in fact they are always working at late hours because during the day everybody works.

 

Look, when most of the developers and some testers alike told you that implementing another carrier into the UNSC fray as either a cruiser or a capital won't work, you should start thinking "Hey, maybe I'm wrong!", maybe because we've been working on this mod for some time (i.e. years) while you created this topic the day the mod got released. Not even the day after, the same day. But I'm sure you're more experienced than us and understood in less than 24 hours what we didn't in years.

 

Just as you refuse to believe us, I refuse to insist on making you understand it won't work.

Oh, no. I don't refuse to understand you. But I have another opinion, separate from yours and yours tough jokes as well. You see, I do nothing here, but discuss some moments with you. Some of your arguments I found worthy, but quite casual. Some devs remarks helped us to find little issues (as we do believe) and ways to make it better... Once ogain, it's our opinions. And... s.c. "Job". I meant... all that complex of actions and connections you had had to made. I prefer quite hobbeys.

 

Also... Don't be so arrogant, Sternie. You're just a tester, so there is absolutely no reason for you to think that you better than others or like that )  Yes, I can be rude too.

You're just a tester

For all intents and purposes, if any non dev has the right to speak it would be SternuS. He is the oldest active playtester on the team at this time, outstripping even a large portion of the dev team when it comes to time served. I don't know where you got this idea that our PT corps has no form of representation of mod interests, because that is downright wrong. Whether you respect them or not is your business, but the PT corps knows what they are saying, and 9/10 times they will have our support in what they say.

 

Now, back to this carrier debate. Two carrier capitals, two of anything in sins does not work. I will not rule out the Epoch never appearing in SotP; you never know what happens in mod work. However I can say with confidence that we will not be placing it as a carrier capital as long as UNSC players have Punics to chuck. Role overlap is something you never want in sins, if you want an example of why I refer you to .56 of SotP, where the Covenant were a linear role overlap that spread over the entirety of the Frigate and parts of the capital line. It is not coincidental that this role overlap made the Covenant incredibly dull, and could further be related to how weak the Covenant were in .56. This is not to say 1 overlapped capital role would lead to this end, but it would certainly be an avoidable step toward making the UNSC more cluttered and boring.

But I'm a man who loves 3 different ships for Miranda basic light cruiser role in Armada III, with some differencies: civillian specific, combat specific and fleet support specific. They almost identical, but more appropriate for... special situations. Believe me... it's not boring. Personally I love Freedom-class )

Maybe at early game it would be an option that you will consider, but once you get money, you´ll forget of past stuff and go for the best, specially having limited capital ships.

I understand your pose Mage. But I´m aware what overlapping would do, and I agree that it could be wasted manpower.

Look, I wasn't being rude or mocking at you in my post, unless you consider speaking the truth to be mocking or rude.

And what are you talking about? Where have I said I'm better than others? Experience is just another factor that you have to consider when you are talking to anyone in any contest.

And while I always try to be humble, I can consider myself more experienced than a guy that played the mod for not even a day, quite literally, and pretends to know more than the devs. I'll nominate the devs alone so you're happy and can believe yourself at their level, since it is clear it's just a problem of self-esteem you have.

It is overlapped. It will be overlapped. It has already been done, and it didn't work.

But of course, what you think is that we put these two ships in-game with same stats and features, tested them (if you'll ever believe we tested anything ever), noticed that they weren't working, and went "HERP let's cut a ship off without trying to change anything, because we don't know how to balance stuff, DERP". Well thank Christ, now you've come here and told us to equalize half of the ships' stats, make UNSC OP again, and put 4 carriers in-game! How come have we missed that!

You have another opinion, which is wrong.

Get over it or give up, you decide. The mods patience isn't infinite. (and as you can see, neither mine)

P.S. also, by re-reading my post, I noticed I never used the singular first person, hence I wasn't referring to only myself (as I was sure I had done). That's another grammar lesson if you want to learn English.

Don´t get us wrong i´am pretty sure battlemage isnt like that in real live i thinhk he is just very biased and passioned about the things he like same as me.I know critism can be annoying specaly wrong critism,but i hope you understand that efryone even battlemage want to get the best mod expirance posible.I gotta be honest

 i still thinhk that the epoch could be a good carrier and i still thinhk that the thermoplaye is still the better ships thats just my own biased opinion...but i also know that most ppl thinhk diffrently and i will accept it because after all the mod wasnt made for me it was made for US,but we all just try to give you feedback even if it annoyes you which it clearly dose,we might be on diffrent side of the tables and we dont agree but after all we just try to help.

There is a very big difference between 'suggestions and feedback' and 'repeating the same ideas over and over again'.

Seriously, this is getting out of control. Can someone please lock this thread since its turning into a flame war? Discussing units and their suggestions is one thing, insulting users is another.

If you find my rogh-in-form suggestions as insults... And as far as I go to remark someone's personality, I behave myself much more modestly, than some people here and on ModDB. Of course, if instead of further discussion (Most likely, soon abandoned till next release) they will act as you said. Well, at least  I'll make fun from such reaction. There is always must be one right point, and deviance is heresy.

Uhn, may I throw in my 5 cents? Looking at your UNSC part of the feedback, you're supposed to be under powered and weak, at all times. Welcome to the human race :P

The UNSC, wven in the .65 version, were NOT by any means an early game faction, nir necessarily agressive at the start. Your goal is to be heavily defensive, get your economy up and runnibg for your cash flow and worming your tail off so you can get to late/end game. The UNSC turns into a bunch of cockroaches when they get to that stage and actually legitimately dangerous.

Your hull strength is tissue paper because Hi, you are fighting a technologically supioro force, and your Titanium -A armor may as well have been tissue paper.

You HAVE to have a 3 to 1 odds in EVERY FIGHT no matter what. If you lack that 3 to 1 advantage against the Covenant, Flood (don't hold me to that one), or enemy UNSC/ "Insurrectionist", then you have already lost.

The UNSC has to easentially fightblike the Imperial Guard from warhammer 40k: Spam spam spam spam spam spam. And more spam. The Covenant don't necessarily need to spam, but it helps -in my opinion the Covenant need a stable if nit excellent economy because our ships are a heck of a lot more expensive than your dirt cheap vessels. But overall, both factions require a good economy for that all important cash flow.

No cash flow, equals no warmachine. No warmachine equals you're gonna have to surrender and be clensed for your insolence. Even worse if you literally cannot put up a fight if a Titan shows up.

I agreed with such stance of things. I remarked, that in multiplayer even bad Covie player can win in aerly game, if it acts right. I suggestet not to buff total UNSC surviability, but slightly improve their early chances.

 

But this suggestion regarding only offensive ops, and if you have enough planets defended with SMACs, so you won't need this buff. If UNSC considered as ONLY defensive faction for all early game, then things settled right.

If Devs think, that in early game the UNSC should be able to attack Covies, than they should get a buff to surviability.

 

 

In our test version (mutual hobbey) UNSC has no additional surviability buffs. They had it before, but after all trials we refused from this idea and agreed with Main Dev team, because considered that Covies should attack first due to Lore reasons. Yes, I made it because of Lore once again. SFIR, get back to scold me.
