Hello,

In my only three matches I played so far, the AI did nothing but build a few small token fleets (like maybe 4 ships and a cap) and a ton of hangars.  They never really assaulted me.  I've looked around on the forum and it sounds like it can be related to a bunch of things (map size, AI difficulty, choosing a map, etc).  I've also heard the 1.83 update has an AI problem where the AI tries to build a Titan and just gets stuck or something.

Has anyone found a way around this problem to get a challenge from the AI?

My previous matches were the following:

-Small random map - 1v1

-Heroic Cov AI set to random, then aggressor

-Quickstart turned off (though I read this doesn't matter, it's always on by default)

Should I not use random maps?  Should I be using higher than Heroic AI?  Should I be using bigger maps?

Thanks for any advice - I really wanna enjoy this game, but I honestly am only interested in single player - so if I can't get the AI to behave itself and play properly, there isn't much point in me sticking with this mod :(

Thanks,

I usually get at least some resistance from the Normal AI. Sadly, it's basically just random whether or not it decides to dignify you with its efforts. Random maps are actually your best bet, as some of the pre-made maps don't give the AI enough resources and it basically has a panic attack and bricks itself. All I can really say is, keep trying, and you can always try larger maps with multiple enemies.

Thank you for your response.

Do you know if earlier versions had this same problem?  If I downloaded Alpha v.0.56.1, would the AI function normally?

The ai worked better on that version atleast it felt like it did, however i recomend not going back to that version they new version changed most thinghs to the better.

bigger maps and more enemys are your best bet or you could just search for somone to play against.

Older versions didn't have this problem, no.
