So as much as I don't like screwing with other people's hard work that, for the most part, I wholeheartedly enjoy, my stubborn side has won me over. I can't play the public beta version of SOTP until I figure out how to remove the Infection research talent. I like just about every other aspect of the mod except that. After about 3 hours of a game, I'm just done. The annoyance turns into a frustration. So while I wait for the latest version to be released, how might I go about removing that skill without changing anything else?

Oh I know it is, I just don't know when that will be coming out. So in the meantime I wanted to know how to do it myself if its possible without breaking the game.

You can't

Sorry about the wait, but unless you have a solid background in SoaSE coding, messing with the research is risky business. Keep holding on!

If you really can't wait, I can show you how to remove it. It's pretty easy if you can follow directions.

i actually like infection... its just that they attack from ridiculous spots, instead of the front lines like you would want.

Well that sorta defeats the purpose of a pandemic outbreak wouldnt it?

I love the idea behind the flood and the infection talent. A pure annoyance that, no matter your best efforts, will cause some sort of loss. It just annoys me a little too much.

If it's difficult to remove the talent without breaking the other parts of the game, I'll just wait. I'm tied up in Halo Homefront for HW2 and SoaGE, one of the Star Wars mods for Rebellion. I'm sure the removal of that research and the addition of a bunch of other goodies will make it worth it. Thanks for the replies!
