Shield Mitigation?

I just joined and am really enjoying the beta. Great work guys.
I don't know if you've thought of this but shield mitigation might be a problem with the covenant.
To my knowledge once their shields are down covenant ships aren't much more resistant to damage than UNSC ships.
Shield mitigation however still takes a percentage off the damage dealt even when the shields are down something I don't think covenant shield would do.
You may have already thought of and dealt with this but just in case I thought I would bring it up.

To my knowledge there is always some shield mitigation, and we can't change that. Thanks for the feedback, though.

Ember, when we played that game last weekend, none of my ships (to those that dont know, i played forerunner) had any shield mitigation until i researched all culture and shield upgrades, which gave them a static 10% mitigation in my culture and a static 4% outside my culture. So, it appears that the forerunners, as well as the covenant, have 0% shield mitigation (except if research upgrades this)

And yes, mitigation functions that way, and yes, that's why we removed it.

The only mitigation in game currently is the stuff that comes from research, which I'm fine with as I see it as shield hardening research. We removed normal mitigation entirely.
will there be research that gives the covenant/forerunners static shield mitigation? currently, the forerunners have it due to the advent shield research tech tree, but the covenant do not.

Possibly. We're not really discussing the Forerunners right now. As you can imagine our bread and butter is UNSC vs Covenant and that's where our focus is right now.
I understand perfectly, curiosity just got the better of me lol
