I was thinking since I have next week pretty much free since all my projects are due this week I would have time to put together a little tournament. If you are interested add me on steam (krocket7). I am looking idealy for 3v3 team games but if you want to join alone I will find a team for you. Hoping to co-ordinate this with someone on the dev team just to give it a bit more official status but if not then thats fine. I guess we could call it the "SoTP Championship"? If there are enough people in the team that wins then the tournament will go down to a FFA between everyone to see who was the champion of the champions. Hoping that someone could create a tournament map for us to use (It would require to be mirrored and have equal resources and oppurtunities for both teams wormholes would be allowed as would flood bases)

Before you all ask... yes there will be free cookies.

I have spoken to Canadaman7 and he said that he will see what can be done to assist with the tournament.

Planning it for next week depending on when the majority of those who are interested in joining it are free I will decide which day will be best, If someone does have a good video recording program then we could add commentary with some of the devs (if they are free) over skype, and possibly post it to youtube to give more exposure for the mod. What we primarily need is a two tournament maps that have been custom made (like the ones that come with the mod) where one is a mirror match of both sides having about 30 planets each (each star would have wormholes to increase rate of gameplay and asteroid fields for the quick economy boost needed to get people in combat immediately), the second map we would need is a smaller map (say 30-40 planets for just one star with asteroid fields and wormholes to help increase the speed of the match) for the FFA champion match ( i expect like 6-8 players for that match). Prizes may be presented aside from being the first ever SoTP Champion and first SoTP Championship team.

It'd be fine for me next week. Don't know when I will be working though, and it would have to be in mid-late afternoon. You should probably try to spread it out instead of cramming into one day as well.

Yes this tournament will be for the beta version so as to allow for a larger community involvement. It wouldn't be fair to crown a champion out of only the playtester version. Plus I don't have playtester so I wouldn't be able to regulate and organize the matches effectively.

I said prizes may be presented and I might be looking at buying a steam game for the FFA champion. Depends on the turnout.
