Anyway, I came up with this idea the other day and thought I would share.
When any combat force goes to battle the survives gain experience, the capital ships get it but as far as I know nothing else does. I'm not sure if it could be done or if it would be worth it but I imagine it being like cap ships only they don't get ability points just a slight buff in damage and/or fire rate and/or damage reduction. It could be used with both factions as well.
Let me know what you guys think.
I also still have access to the beta svn I'm not sure if you still want me to or not.

I'm fine with it as long as you're willing to actually test the mod and report back after playing your games. If something irks you in a match come and write us about it so we can compile complaints and suggestions. Respond here with an affirmative to that and I'll give you access to the playtester forums here.

If you guys don't mind having me. I play the game with this mod all the time but I usually don't find anything wrong that someone hasn't already pointed out. Though one thing that bothers me as of late are nukes. Maybe I haven't figured them out but I can never get into range fast enough to use them, especially if the other team has an Orion.

Is it like a council? The master devs council. On must seek permission from them before undertaking the task of making a mod. There is a long and meaning full set of challenges one must accomplish before permission is given.
The challenges, piece by piece, dismantle your social life so that you have time to actually work on a mod.

Only way to make a workaround for this is to make every ship in the game a capital ship. No telling if the AI would shit itself, but during the earliest days of SoaSE modding, there was a lot of talk about the possibilities of going down that route.
SOGE went down that route, it fits for star wars, but gaining experience is very slow if you have a lot of capital ships in a fleet...

Eh, when did they do this? I haven't seen a mod so far where EVERY ship is a capital ship.

Not all the ships are capitals, but recently when SOGE swapped to Rebellion it made a bunch of the cruisers capitals and really buffed up the cap ship slots, essentially all you'll ever build is Capital ships.
999 capital ship slots, 4000 population if you use large fleet sizes... you could potentially never build a frigate in this mod lol
