Took em long enough, a Spielberg directed TV serie, although the movie might still come further down the road this will have to satisfy us for now, this will be developed in conjunction with the new Xbox 1's tv functionality- http://www.wired.com...berg-halo-xbox/

The upside to this idea over a movie (provided they are somewhat based on the books) is that for eg a movie of the fall of reach- a lot of good material would have to be dropped to fit inside a 2 hour+ on screen epic wheras a tv series could stretch to encompass the whole book and perhaps add more and each book or even the games to be formatted into a season, it s more likely however that they wiil start a completely original story thay on occasion will touch on the games and books memorable moments, good way to avoid the diehard halo fans crying foul if some core game/book story element is altered to serve the tv shows plot, if its as good as band of brothers/pacific I'll e happy.

There probably will not even be a space battle, knowing movies based on books.

I very seriously doubt they ever make any video based on a book. They haven't yet with FUD or Legends.

Hopefully the effects won't be crap like with most other TV shows, especially since it would be so CG reliant.

That won't and can't turn one of the games into a TV series. It would be super shizen. Maybe a side story based on the games, perhaps. I would wait to sing its' praises.

I would be happy with a series about ODSTs or some of the early missions with the Spartan IIs.  That being said, I think it will be something based around Halo 4; Maybe we will see our spartan ops story line continued through this TV show.  Either way I think that it is good hands with Spielberg.

Considering they are having this for the new Xbox 1 it could be a similar deal to Defiance- the TV series could unfold along with a future Spartan Ops series running in tandem. Not too woried about the effects though, any to the level of BSG will be more than satisfactory but the story should take precedence.

It be a lot easier to have the story post Halo 4 so they wont have to worry too much about contradicting the canon of everything that came before it.

But post Halo 4 canon is garbage and is filled with terrible tropes and Mary Sues. I would much rather have pre-Halo 3 events expanded on more, there's so much to go off of there and everything looked better prior to Halo 3's ending.

I like everything up to the beginning of Halo 4.

Why Speilberg? Spielberg!

 

I'm thrilled by this announce. I mean, Spielberg is one of the greatest directors and producers of all time. In my opinion, it would be nice if they looked up to Battlestar Galactica. That was a wonderfully produced and directed TV series.
