As I have found out recently, the covenant and I presume the forerunners will be more slipspace orientated. I'd like to see either of them have a structure that creates a temporary slipspace path to an enemy planet. The covenant do have technology similar to this, they launch a probe that attachs to an enemy ship and records the star data of where the ship travels. The probe then builds up a charge and launches a crystal towards a covenant planet/ship. This is how they found out the location of Reach in the Fall of Reach book. The mechanics of the game obviously limit this so I'd like to see a building that acts like the Kostra Cannon but without the disabling buildings ability.

That might be completely broken against UNSC players though.

The UNSC is already the slowest in slipspace and the weakest fleet. But give the Forerunner and Covenant an ability to direct jump to any planet would be extremely unfair for the UNSC.

Sure the UNSC has the best defense maybe but direct jumping means they would have to anchor stations plus entrench every single world in worries that they may be caught with their pants down. The UNSC already has enough to worry about on their frontline worlds let alone everything in the back.

Forerunners are already OP according to Canon, they dont need a direct jump line :P

IMHO, this kind of thing removes all strategic point of SoaSE's design, chokepoints and all.

It's a stalemate breaker but given the design of this mod. You don't need anything of the sort with Forerunners and Covenant.

Fair enough.

I should point out that a forerunner capital ship, while incredibly expensive, can be considered a game changer. There is no need for an attack behind enemy lines when you can smash through fleets (assuming you have a support fleet)

yes and it should be very pricey such as it is about 50kms long and it would have compelling forerunner shields way more then a keyship as the keyship can stand up to

This is the prototype NOVA Bomb, nine fusion warheads encased in lithium triteride armor. When detonated, it compresses its fissionable material to neutron-star density, boosting the thermonuclear yield a hundredfold. You all have a nice day in hell...
