What do we want to see in future versions of SOTP? (That are actually possible to do inside SOASE and SOTP)

Now i've made this thread to help support the team that works on SOTP, mainly because i dont feel like we as a community do enough, all we do is ask for shit, and some of it, isnt even possible with Sins of a Solar Empire. So i want this thread to be legit, any and all ideas and suggestions must be appropriate and supported by your reasoning and why you think it should be or should happen.

For example, random events, personally i can think of quite a few different events that have happened in the Halo Universe, For instance the URF (United Rebel Front), wouldn't it be cool if they implemented a system, where you had to keep each planet happy, and if you didn't it would rebel, either by acting independently or by joining another Faction and or alliance. 

I doubt that's possible, but it's a thought that's backed up by actual event's and facts. Personally though i think it would be awesome if they did implement that, but i wouldn't get my hopes up.

Regardless that's only an example, but do you understand, this was supported by being something that, with a crap ton of work, could actually happen, but you gotta realize, they're are only soo many people trying to cater to every individual's wants and needs, they aren't magic, they can't make a system where you can land on planets, and make ground forces like halo wars, but without actually going into space, like in that one Star Wars game.

They are only human, and can only do so much.  So i made this thread to help lighten the load for them. We are asking for too much, at one time, we need to be patient, and who knows, maybe they're so smart that they will be able to implement system's like the ones i mentioned, BUT ONCE AGAIN! I wouldn't get my hopes up, they're only capable of doing so much, with what they're given.

So from now on, please try asking for things that are actually possible, i know we want this that and the other, but we gotta learn to back off on demands once and a while, and actually contribute to the games development if we want to see these kinds of things. So every now and again, just look for a way, anyway possible, to help the game and the team become even better. and maybe, just maybe......we can turn this mod into something to rival a fully developed game, and who knows it might actually be one one day. 

So can we do that?  are we capable of slowing down, and taking the time to process these things, and fix a few things here and there along the way?

I hope so, because i personally have no doubt, that each and everyone of you, can help make this game, maybe even the best mod for years to come.  

I hope i'm not wrong, but i usually am.

If you make a sector in Stellaris people start to think about independence and start to rebel. Annoying as hell.

Also I believe Armada 3 mod had a same feature in it and still annoying as hell to loose planets to rebels while fighting off some weird ass aliens.

 

But I guess its up to how its implemented.

I agree, and you support your thought's with reason and fact's therefore i have no choice but to agree, im a person who relys on logic more than most people. You have presented your thought's in a  very reasonable and sensible manner.

We used to have a similar system implemented using the base games culture and allegiance system, though I believe we were forced to remove it due to how the system worked, how little we could modify it to fit our needs and how it made little sense given the universe. Thanks for the suggestion though!

No problem, i made this thread to help the mod staff, and hopefully you will check back here as one of your primary sources of suggestions and ideas. 

Also as a personal request you think you could release the strident class? Stand-alone without needing the infinity?

The strident as a standalone buildable ship breaks the ai. It acts the same way as in past releases where the ai stopped everything and sat waiting to build a titan, the ai prioritizes stridents and would build only stridents and as such would be at a great disadvantage and make the game a lot less interesting. As the person who modeled the strident it is unfortunate however for the good of the mod it should remain as an ability.

Since this thread is about what people want to see in SOTP I figure it would be a good idea to layout some of the major features that will hopefully appear in future updates. As well below will be links to suggestion and explanation threads for each topic.

 

Varied Defense - Alterations to the defensive capabilities of the UNSC and Covenant in order to create a more fluid asymmetrical system.

 

New Custom Maps - We're hoping to assemble a map team and create an array of new custom maps for the mod based off of significant events in the lore.

 

Heroes - A system in which factions can call in hero ships with special abilities/unique models and altered stats.

 

 

Events - A system in which random events may occur randomly throughout a match, adding unique experiences to each match.

 

Forerunner Faction - A playable forerunner faction, much of which is still in basic concepting stages.

 

Post War Factions - (Banished, Jul's Covenant, Swords of Sanghelios) Hopefully as the mod progresses and more lore is established these factions or others like them will be added to the mod.

 

Note: These are (Some) possible additions which may or may not make it into the mod depending on circumstances and restrictions.

Don't know if its just me but I pretty much view it as its own game. Hell, I even address it as its own game. In all honesty, the mod is a lot better than the majority of games I've played. All of my 229 hours in SoaSE have being with SotP and I'd have it no other way.

Well don't you think if the Swords of Sanghelios are going to be playable and are considered a Rebel faction from the covenant, could you make the URF playable as well? because it would to the diversity in it's own ways right? 

Also i appreciate all the commcents ive been reading, if the staff haven't realized it yet, let me spell it out, This mod....no this GAME IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST! So if you guys are running low on drive, look back here to find it. We're all very grateful for this mod, and i'm sure that there are people who support you who can help you, ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS ASK!

Also could you look into debuffing the covies because when they're on normal even they're massive fleets are too OP due to their missiles! and my ships can't match their firepower!

Also could you look into debuffing the covies because when they're on normal even they're massive fleets are too OP due to their missiles! and my ships can't match their firepower!

If you are playing as UNSC then you should get rekted by covies. 3:1 ratio bruh. Spam more ships then you be good.

We ask on all platforms for people to contact us should they want to support the mod, we're always looking for more talent in every aspect. So we do ask, i'm not sure where you're getting that we dont.

 

As well the covies are meant to be difficult, it takes a lot of skill, practice and tactics to get good fighting with or against either faction, the covenant have always been said to be on a 3:1 ratio when in combat with the UNSC and that is what we strive to achieve. You shouldnt be able to match a massive covenant fleets firepower, otherwise we would not be meeting this ratio.
