Hey everyone, as some of you may have seen lately, I was trying to get a custom GalForge map I've been working on up and running for about 6 days now. I put a lot of work and research into this but I feel that the work isn't done, not by a long shot. I FINALLY was able to get it functioning and playable.

 

A lot of you here know the Halo lore a lot more extensively than I do but I've been trying to immerse myself in it. However, I do need feedback so I can update it enough so that it fits with the Halo universe's canon as well as work well gameplay wise. I really want to add more maps as well to the community.

FEATURES:

-There is now travel between star systems. However, research into long range jumps is required.

-The Flood have been added. Flood worlds have been put in as extra challenges to players

-Addition of 3 other planets to the Urs (Sanghelios' system)

-Reach is now the only (or is it?) chokepoint to the Sol system.

-[Information Classified]

 

You can use this thread to send me any feedback and I'll keep the map updated with new versions and modifications 

 

Also I would like to thank sloose, sci fi and spectre for the help in trying to solve my technical difficulties. I am in your debt!

One thing I already noticed, don't call the sun sun, call it Sol, the official designation ^^

And you could always add Luna (the moon) to Earth, since it was colonized

I was thinking about adding Luna but I was afraid of cluttering things too much together and causing more problems. Now that I know that I solved the real problem, I can go ahead and start adding stuff. Also, yeah, I should have named it Sol, my mistake

Yeah, I was also thinking, at the time, that phase-laning stars together was what was making the game crash. I have to go back in and rework the phase lane structure all over

I do like the amounts of planets and such

 

And maybe make Reach a greenhouse planet, because it was a human fortress world

I feel the Covenant's side of the galaxy is lacking, though. There isn't as many planets known in Covenant-controlled space so, I feel, players who are the Covenant will have a disadvantage with planet control

 

Also, Reach wasn't a greenhouse planet but I guess greenhouse planets have more tactical/logistic slots. But I'm torn between making Reach look, you know, like Reach or having it function like Reach

I think greenhouse planets have less logistical slots but more tactical ones

So, yeah, makes Reach a fortress world. I don't know, man. I feel gameplay is important but keeping things looking authentic is just as important. I'll see what I can do

You could give each planet those attributes yourself, and give Reach the fortress world thing so it gets more tactical slots so you can build more defenses

Yeah, that's true, but I'm going to have to do more research on how to appropriately change the tactical and logistics slots. I'll make sure Reach lives up to it's legend

I like the map, got plenty of choke points, but a few of the planet types I would change (witch some people have already told you) like for one, Mars is Terran now, UNSC ships now terraform planets for colonization, but I like the idea of it being barren if the map was based off the 21st century. But other than that, good map! well designed and planned.

and no, mars IS terraformed, wiki said it itself, but the inconsistencies of it looking desert based is odd.

I made a linear campaign map which is still being tested.

No colonization at all. Truly is UNSC vs cov.

So basicly you have to upgrade every planet or your economy goes down the shitter... and you have to do that at the start

So basicly you have to upgrade every planet or your economy goes down the shitter... and you have to do that at the start

For the inner colonies, no. If you decolonised the outer colonies to create a buffer zone, then you would make profit easily, but at the current state you make the same income as you would if you had a single planet. Only difference is you get a metric butt tonne of resources quickly. Which I'm working on at the moment so that there are no resources on the inner colonies. meaning you should try to hold them for as long as possible.

But I'm stumped on how to remove resource asteroids.

That way you can give the bonus to any planet you want, but no random bonus to any planet then, but you can make it as lore friendly as you want then
