Do you have some sort of proof that Earth, Madrigal, and Harvest form a 90 degree angle?
I don't think it's meant to be literal but just a sketch of how it could be

No, i intended to use a scalene-obtuse triangle but couldn't find one with letters on it.
Pure example.

the bestarium.
Check my post. the one with triangle.
The Bestiarium doesn't reference the size of human space. Either way its canon, the Covenant have 912 ly/day drives.
Now as for this topic, I think the Covenant should have logistics options aside from colonies. We've seen that they have Agricultural Support ships and stations like Unyielding Hierophant for Fleet support and long term operations, and they also have stations like the Station of Constant Sustenance for small battlegroups and individual ships needing resupply for long term ops.

It is.
What I'm saying is that it's non intentional. Meaning that nobody was supposed to work it out. Just like warp factor from Star Trek.
I'm not going to argue anymore seeing as I'm in a pub withy fiancé.
Dude for all you know the Covenant fleet were scouting in the entirely wrong direction when they first discovered Harvest. Its not like they know "Oh, UNSC Space is 100ish lightyears in diameter, and their slipspace drives have a range of X parsecs"
Also what we know about the space surrounding us is fairly limited, it is quite possible there are more star systems in Earth's vicinity that we simply cannot detect with our telescopes. Real world cosmology doesn't really apply here as we see with the Epsilon Indi system. Also think of it this way, after the Fall of Reach it was expected humanity would fall in a matter of weeks. Why? Because there was a massive Covenant fleet sitting 15 minutes away from Earth.

I'm a little bit drunk so if this post is really bad somebody do something about it.
Grab your popcorn kids! this could be entertaining.

I responded to your thread in a new thread in the Lore section.

*Watches irrelevant argument*
Not again.....
I started a new thread for all discussions regarding UNSC space size and Covenant slipspace speed.
Back on topic. I think glassing could be useful, the only thing is how would it work? Like Strip to the Core is a lengthy process. You have to destroy the surface of a world, colonize it then, destroy it which has like a 300 second time.

Yeah I saw that, thank you.
I think it would be cool if planet glassing could make it into the mod somehow, after all it's very signature of the Covenant military doctrine. As for what form it would take, that depends on how extreme of an ability the guys who balance this stuff want it I guess.
As far as conjecture goes it could be as complex as a pseudo Strip the Core ability, or as simple as a temporary debuff for the planet being glassed. But that's just pure conjecture on my part, so don't quote me on it.

You know they worked out the warp factor too? It's actually comparable to the speed that UNSC ships fly at though the main difference is that warp is variable and slipspace at least for the UNSC is set.
The funny thing is just like in this game they never really explain how the ships in Star Trek can realistically traverse the enormous distances in the Alpha Quadrant. For example a Romulan battlegroup somehow mysteriously got from the Romulan Neutral Zone to the Dominion Front in less than a week yet their best warp speed is 4 lightyears a day. That means to get from Romulan territory to Dominion territory it would take 500 days and that's at maximum warp which is unsustainable so it would realistically take 2 or 3 years, but no one fusses over that.

Well if we are trying to be lore friendly it should be fairly permanent considering Reach wasn't recolonized until 2589. But even a temporary debuff would be tactically beneficial for the Covenant at a chokehold planet.
