started detailing it anyway

i use retopology to get the shape of the model and then i extrude it. making slow progress, any1 knows a better method?

No reptopology is nessecary, you've done nothing wrong

seems quite purple to me

 

i explained it earlier in the post:

how to do it: download iso (you can't copy your disk or you need to mod your reader), extract it with 360 iso cracker, open .map files in adjutant (found on halomaps.org)

in adjutant the models are located in the "render_models" folder. you can generate a script in adjutant to import the models to 3dsmax
