Considering the blance in this mod, as well as in the lore, is that the UNSC wins with a 3:1 ratio then it seems properly balanced to me.  But considering you've got what seems to be a good mix, it might be down to tactics and not numbers.

The Devs would know better than I, though.

How did you get that many capitals?

Otherwise your fleet mix is good.

You can just use dev.exe and spawn ships as needed, on the fly. So you don't have to set up fleets before hand.

Obviously your capitals didn't launch a single nuke. If all the UNSC Capitals launched a nuke, the Covenant fleet would have been dust. Either that or they wasted them all on a single ship.

This. Sometimes ships in a fleet will ALL target the same ship, wasting their MAC shot.

Also, aren't we still on the 3:1 phyrric victory ratio? At 2:1 I'd still expect the Covenant to win based purely on the old way of doing things.

Edit: Also, what Rovert said, nukes are a godsent.

Depending on tech. Also UNSC had purely caps while Covenant had caps and cruisers, so that makes a difference.

So the 450+ group of Thanatos, Halcyon, and Paris frigates are there for show?

I'd assume he just threw them together without a single hint of micromanagement. Wasting a ton of DPS and Nuke potential.

Looking at the numbers i feel that things played out almost perfectly in accordance to cannon. It'd be nice to know the unit numbers for each side at the end of the battle. Im betting the covenant lost about half of thier forces. Its also important to take into account what level your cap ships were because they can't unlock nukes right away anymore

unsc had 0 ships left while the covenant had 86 salvation class and 234 ccs class crusiers left

I'm assuming you didn't level up the UNSC capitals at all or unlocked any abilities for them. The UNSC win with nukes.

You don't really need to micro so much as keep your Capitals alive long enough to launch your nukes. Which means keeping your Caps at the back of your fleet instead of the front.

Wooooops.
I was basing that off of Spectre's cap ship quote there...
Reading the OP? Aint nobody got time for that...

But yeah, actually, OP, vs AI, the pause button is your friend. Pause, pick targets, don't target the same ship, blow stuff up... Nukes are critical... umm... buffs are nice too...

i re started the battle this time leveling up all my ships to level 2 and got the nuke then jumped in system with the covenant paused the game and picked seperate targets for each one on the first salvo of nukes whiped out nearly half of the covenant fleet and the remaining ships fired there MAC gun and took out more unsc still lost 700 ships whilt the covies lost everything

Just out of curiosity, how much does each fleet cost in resources?

I'm asking for the sake of balance. If the desired fleet size ratio is 3:1, what is the desired cost difference?  Personally, I would think that for the sake of balance, the fleets should roughly cost the same. I may do the math myself if no one does it in the next couple of days, but anyone is welcome to do so. :P

Thank you for your time.
