I seem to remember maxing out fleet supply and creating an armada of purely Parises, Makos and Thanatoses. I admit I didn't micro but when I came back my fleet was gone and there were 3 flood ships remaining. Probably a testament to the forerunner's as much as the flood's strength.

I use an extra random map pack because the layout of the default randoms is more or less the same so I could spawn with it as one of my capital's moons... so I would have to spam a fuck load of parises in there for a mostly useless planet for +3 tax bonus. Honestly precursor ruins should give a culture spread, research, and a (bigger) economic bonus. No point in diverting resources to going on a suicide attack against the Flood. The only time I don't really care is when I hijack the Forerunner sentinels (the ones that are strong as hell, can't remember their names) with Autumns and send them in since they can't get infected. They lack antimatter. I really hope that was intentional and I didn't just give up a fun bug..

That's kinda a sign of things to come...

So Forerunner ships won't have abilities? That's rather... boring.

Sure they will. Don't need antimatter for abilities :P

It really doesn't matter all that much. Sins AI is terrible at adapting to things that are that far out of the spectrum of the vanilla game, particularly the flood.

Truth be told the AI is a bit terrible at most things still, when you and the AI are fighting on two different fronts, the AI on the left side and you on the right. if your AI and the enemy are in a deadlock stalemate at a choke point, they will completely abandon that area and will move all its forces to yours even though it could win that battle if you push ahead of it. and it will not stop moving fleets in your direction even though the enemy keeps on pushing through your territory.

Lost against 2 heroic AIs when my AI was Legendary.

just posted this right as I found yours... I''ll just leave this here:

Hello all, I have been messing around with this mod recently (I was using it back when it was just the UNSC in entrenchment) and i have been having a issue with the flood being realllllyyyyyy strong.

Now dont get me wrong I know lore wise the flood were a unholy horror that is worthy of the ammount of preperation they take to try to halt, however I personaly think there a little over the top right now. In the 5 full games (45 min per game) I have NEVER encounterd another enemy player. by the time I shore up the home defences and are ready to sally out the flood already wiped out all the computers and like 20% of my stuff. My only problem is at this point if you dont win post 30, the only viable tactic is literaly build a 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 point defence ships and some destroyers totry to kill some of the infected ships (so when like 99% of that strike fleet gets turned against me they at least dont hit as hard as the 20 or so carriers and autums they took from me earlier...)

SMAC stations just dont kill the flood fast enough and strike craft defending the gravity well are too inept to deal with the saturation of targets (they attack the middle group as opposed to taking targets out that are close to them) so inevatable the one strike will break through (and by ineveatable I mean like 30 sec after contact) and turn all my defences against me. I know your not suposted to "win" but I see no way to even halt their attack or defend your self. the current game I was playing I was the flood's first target and they literaly killed my entre fleet and all my defences in under 5 min (30 ish min game), which is a little insane, each planet had about 7 ish SMAC platforms and hangar defences with flack and mines.... mines everywhere but it didnt matter they literaly overwhelmed my defences and rotfl stomped me down to a small astroid where I finally was crushed by the 150 or so ships they sent.

Here is my suggestion:

1.ether reduce the rate the strike craft come back after they are killed, giving you a small chance to even turn their attack back if you can beat the initial wave

2.nerf the spors to they literaly die if they get attacked (like the stage 0 infection form) so their masses are justified

3. make ships and platforms take more "hits" to turn (a 2000 man cruiser with a half wit for a commander could quaeientine the compartment that the flood breached and vent that shit, it shouldnt take just one for the ship to fall, becides that like standard damage controll protocalls anyway if ANY ship takes a hit)

Thats my 2 cents, I loved the mod so far, I am just frustrated by the flood. I lovehow helpless they make you feel ,but I want to also know that i have a chance, as opposed to how they are now where if your the target you should just resign.

They're not changing it man, sorry. The Flood is literally supposed to be "outlast your opponents to win." They're hard for a reason but they can beaten with a fuckton of spam and micromanagement.

Think of turning the flood on as changing the game mode rather than your typical pirates.

This is accurate. Turning the Flood on is not turning on pirates. It is activating Flood Mod, where you will learn to fight the infection through pain and sacrifice.

The power of the Flood comes from their infection spore strikecraft. You need to run a lot of interceptors/carriers and anti-air ships. You must destroy them before they can be used. You must also destroy the ships carrying them.
