In the glorious revelation that is that the halos are coming. Would it be possible to have these be that "Mysterious Planet guarded by a strong neutral fleet"? Or maybe a couple of these so we have a king of the hill scenario? Hold them for a reasonable period of time and Done.
Occupation Game mode? Halos?

I think they said they are just cognizable objects with huge buffs, i am not sure though:)
they will probably be heavily defended for balance, or undefended for canon

But would it be possible to have them Spawn in for that gamemode? or maybe instead of a Halo for the occupation victory maybe A long lost Colony or Holy site,or maybe a Unique Forerunner World? that'd be nice and btw the new textures for the DDS look GLORIOUS.

Halo installations are very rare. Do not expect to find them in many games. I myself have found them only twice so far, while I found much more often Shield Worlds. Hence the gamemode would be unplayable (besides, controlling a Halo surely has its advantages, but it isn't a game changer AFAIK)

they aren't rare
i dont have numbers, but im 99% sure the chance to spawn is ridiculously low compared to other planet types. the RNG gods are simply smiling upon you if you find them often

Yes they are and yes they can be...Also, they aren't rare and can't be made rare by the nature of Sins.

Maybe I said that wrong. You can't make them exponentially rare. From what I understand the game has a series of lists of planets to go through and select for spawning. The less lists a certain planet type is in, the less likely it is to spawn. Say you have 5 lists and only put Halos/SWs in one list. 1/5 planets will still (logically) be a Halo or a SW. Or at least I'm pretty sure that's how Sins selects random planet types.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that with the Halo and Shield World

I remember one of the devs explaining it to me like that, might have been Uni. Not sure.
I dunno, I'm not sure how else you would get them to spawn in. There's no set spawn conditions in Sins AFAIK.

They're chosen from a list. We decrease the chances by increasing the number of other planet types that can spawn.
Take this example:
If you notice, there are duplicates, increasing the chances of that planet spawning, therefore decreasing the chances of other planets spawning.
orbitBodyType "Archipelago" orbitBodyType "Archipelago" orbitBodyType "Archipelago" orbitBodyType "Archipelago" orbitBodyType "Archipelago" orbitBodyType "Archipelago"vs
orbitBodyType "LargeMethane" orbitBodyType "ShieldWorld" orbitBodyType "Temperate"

Clever boy
It takes a dwarf to use magma for snow shoveling
Only in Dwarf Fortress would you try to catch a mermaid to butcher her and make trophies out of her bones
