r u guys r planning on scrapping the mines? the computer goes a little crazy with them on heroic and legendary

Is there a way to turn off mines? I was playing against a legendary last night, and one system was literally just a giant mine field. I mean, I just novliathed his ass and let him keep the ruins, but it was a little ridiculous. if it happens again I'll take a screen.

Just needs another anti mine thing instead of the shitty prowler reveal mine thing. It auto uses sometimes.

Well the vanilla scout ships suck at it also. This isn't a sotp thing its a soase thing. Sotp should add another anti mine ability to something

i never use them myself..... it just sucks when 1/3 of my fleet dies with even firing a shot

I'm not sure how I feel about gigantic minefields. Not too big of a fan of mines, myself.

If you don't like running into minefields, don't let your enemy fortify.
It is your fault if they get the chance to do that.




Seriously though, mines are great. They add a whole new dimension to defence, forcing your enemies to try and flank you, or use tactics, approach with caution.
We need mines.


Like I'm seriously adamant, you can't remove these. They are great.

Yes keep them but have better anti mine abilities like the advent aeria drone host but not as extreme as that

I'm in favor of keeping them, get with the tactics… scout all the time it is useful. Scouting allows you to avoid things by choosing where to jump in.

I love mines! i was playing with Sancho and defender, and Sancho was moving his fleet to my homeworld with my Novalith which i had been using on him, so I spammed everything to try and repel him, but my fleet was nothing compared to him so i placed mines everywhere around my planet, my fleet was obliterated but my mines destroyed half of his fleet, thats why i think fines a absolutely essentional

My solution to mines, put the mine revealing ability (Rebellion AOE version) on flak frigates.

My other solution to mines. The scout ability effects every mine in the grav well for 30 seconds.

If it's possible, it would make the game slightly more realistic if you could destroy mines by attacking them from afar. That way you can clear planets you liberate of enemy mines instead of having to run cheap ships through them to clear your gravity well.

Instead of having reveal mine as a cool-down ability turn it into a passive ability. That would be way better.
