It is your fault if they get the chance to do that.
Seriously though, mines are great. They add a whole new dimension to defence, forcing your enemies to try and flank you, or use tactics, approach with caution.
We need mines.
Like I'm seriously adamant, you can't remove these. They are great.

If you don't like running into minefields, don't let your enemy fortify.

My other solution to mines. The scout ability effects every mine in the grav well for 30 seconds.
