So I had this Idea since many people want to see the CS O ingame.

But because its so huge bla bla bla balancing problem we will never going to see it beeing playable.

My Suggestion is that the CS O is added as a gigantic shipwreck to the map like the Halo ring or other map stuff.

Would certainly be a roundabout way to silence people asking for it to be in the mod. Custom shipwreck of it split in half from the slip bomb...

Make it a neutral zone where tons of resource asteroids can be captured.

Or just a asteroid type planet with negative/no income rate but a lot of resources.

Soooooo? It's not like its gonna move around or something. Its just floating in space devided by 2.....

also just a thought having the supercarrier as a wreck ingame can be a plausible explanation for why the covenant faction can't field any of them.

Since I guess these things are pretty rare. (was there even any other supercarrier than the Long Night of Solace?)

It's in my opinion a better explanation instead of plot device , OP , Too big then fans willa argue but mantles approach ,  Can't balance properly bla.

It'd be nice. Maybe write on it somewhere "Plot Device" or "Hardcoded" or something funny.

This might just be one of the easiest things to implement in game. I don't know how difficult this would be for the devs, but all that's needed, is a scaled-up CAS wreckage.

Another CSNope was commanded by Xytan but it got destroyed by the Plot device bo...I mean Nova Bomb in Ghosts of Onyx.  There were a few around High Charity as well, although those can all be presumed destroyed after the Great Schism as they'd be priority targets for both Loyalist and Separatist forces in the system. Point is there could be at least two places the wreckage could be if not 3.

          I disagree.

Yeah, something as simple as "Derelict Ship" as the "planet" type name would be more than enough, with the standard Covenant naming scheme for the actual gravity well name.

Maybe have a variant with a Forerunner Command ship defended by Sentinels later in development?

rather add some covenant remnants or leftovers from the battle to it.

I doubt you would have such a mighty ship even though its destroyed left unguarded. So no one can salvage the technology that still might be intact.

I don't see why this should be handled as an easteregg only because its the plot device.

Also why non canon? The thing clearly was used throughout the war when I read through lord starks post. So I would consider it canon.

Only because people don't like the "plot device" dosent mean it never existed or is not canon. Its so much canon like the Master Chief.

There is no need to balance a wreck and the mod team could always pretty up the CS O so it dosent look like a complete CAS ripoff.

Like they did with the ORS.

The plot device surely is canon. Putting in a debris as an explanation of the ship not being in the mod sounds silly if you take it seriously. Imagine fans asking why the ship isn't in the game, "Because there's a wreckage of it somewhere, but it's rare, so good luck finding it". They will always ask why, and the devs will always have to explain balance decisions.
Making it "funny", as an Easter Egg, at least would cheer up whoever finds it. Writing on it "Plot Device" would kind of explain better the reason why it is not in the game; that reason being the Devs don't like it.

Well that was just a random thought of me. It can be an explanation or not depends on the user who plays. Sotp is afterall designed so that people can make up there own storys and wars if I remember correctly.

                  Still disagree.

                  Sure.

Although I fail to see how putting a wreckage of a ship can make up for a war story. A ship that isn't yours, and that you can't build.

I found myself avenging the death of one of my ships, mostly out of fun, but finding a dead ship that could be misinterpreted as a CAS (being the same model)...that doesn't ring anything for me. Improving the model to make it different from the CAS requires Mal working on a new model that would exclusively be used as a rare-to-find type of planet/asteroid, which, for as much as Mal is a talented - and fast - modeller, I think is a complete waste of time, given that we still require the RCS model, the Adjudicator model, the Battleship model, the Pious model, and other ships that Cole might be planning to add, and those are buildable, very common ships that anyone sees regularly in the games.

Hence, why I said let's take it easy and make it, for now at least, something less serious.

I hope that clarifies my statements.

Well it really depends on how far you go..... its just really your imagination or in some cases Roleplay. Someone could always be like "I just arrived at this sector and found out that the previous fleet with the precious plot device got recked" and stuff.

I hope that clarifies my statements.

                    Yeah I see now.
Still for the time beeing it should not be that hard to scale up the CAS wreck model (does it have one yet?) and just cut it in half.
Hell I would do it myself If I get acess to the model.
