there are some people that do that lol personally, i think its a waste of resources, since these covenant ships are usually easily destroyed, and a well balanced UNSC fleet can take on a rag tag fleet of captured covenant vessels and easily win. when the covenant release comes out though, things will be different
True but I do it sometimes. Captured covies make good cannon fodder.

This is a valid point, but when you have a fleet with 5 orions, each with level 3 smart AI abilities, your entire fleet turns into a several hundred barrel sniper rifle lol i dont think cannon fodder makes a difference here.
Note, this tactic is NOT perfect. If the enemy has enough ships, they can get you within their firing range and counter attack

That's all true, but its also a beautiful thing to turn on theater mode and watch them fight.
Makes me glad to read posts like that.
All too often, I get so tied up and ultra-focused on the unfinished things and bugs that I need to fix within the mod, it takes away from my immersion. I always think of it like managing a Disney World.

I just had a thought, will you guys be implementing the great schism at a release down the road? So you can choose to play elites or brutes? I know they would be flying the same ships but maybe have different costs and abilities that reflect the brute way of fighting and the elites way?
In Rebellion, factions are split into two, so the two Covenant factions when we move to Rebellion will be the Covenant Separatists and the Covenant Loyalists. So to some effect, yes.
