how do i edit weapon damage on this mod like mac damage that each ship does and such I just want to play around a bit with the mod

Gameinfo folder within the mod folder houses everything you're looking for. Just note that all those files are 'binned' and you'll have to 'unbin' them in order to edit them

Good tutorials for the conversion of BIN to TXT format files, first is a tutorial video, the other one text form:

After you've converted your files to TXT, you can open the file you want to change with a simple text editor like notepad. In the files, search for lines starting with "DamagePerBank", that are the values you're searching for.

Relatively good tutorials.

 

BUT: you won't be able to play with people who have not such changes implemented, do you understand? All people must share the same version of the game and of the mod to play.
