Don't know if this has been covered before, but I'm sure I'm not the only one whose defence plan against flood raids invovles a cap ship and a nuke, plus a few mines. I know there is a graphics setting for removing debris/dust clouds, but is there a way to minimize the amount of debris left over from flood ships? Really lags the game up when 100 ships explode into a cloud of metal bits and pieces....

Nothing major, just an inconveniance, but it would be nice if there was a way to change the one thing than adjust an overall setting because of one occurance.

It may be wise to turn that debris into a particle effect. Thanks for the comment...

Is that possible? And how would it result in a performance improvement?

We intend to create custom debris eventually when Dhoulmegus has hit the more important stuff. It may be wise to just turn off ship debris until then, because they really do break the immersion anyway.

So it would be flood goop flying through space? Cool.

Bornsteller is so good of a modeler that he should be on the cover of Victoria Secret.™

A 5sec flood goopball explosion is much lighter than debris sitting there till Sins decides to despawn it... plus it would look better

That would work too

I have an issue I thought I'd bring up about this, apparently I can't turn off ship debris, has this been noticed already or am I the only one? (Using public beta)
