Aye, I only really post if i've something of use to offer or some such or can offer insight into discussions. I'll try post more! You guys like dickgirl.jpgs right?

The planet specialization is rather interesting in it's execution, a nice double edged blade use, i can foresee much fuckery (in a good way) of it's logic and the potential for interesting planet mechanics. So far no ones really messed around with the logic as it stands as far as I know. As for other changes, theres little preliminary information about any other really interesting things, just small bits here and there. A full list of modified files is here but it's a heavy wall of text.

I just tried out forbidden worlds, the new planet specialization system is awesome. If enough people have it there should be mod support for it.

Even if you decide not to support the DLC, as it is integrated into 1.5+ proper, you'll be compatible with it at the very least. That being said, the new planet bonuses can be used by modders even in non-DLC Sins. The planet types might be so as well, but I haven't tested that.

Really? It sounds simple enough. It could be done with a buff couldn't it?

No, not all of it. Much of it can be done via buff, but the populationGrowthRate could not. The ability to actually choose between two and upgrade something, rather than it being there from the start, is something new as well.

Besides the planet specialization feature, which I'm pretty sure involves engine changes, it was basically a mini-mod.

The DLC also let to the addition of 6 new planet bonuses.

I know it's only five dollars, but is this DLC worth it, or could I just wait a while for it?

I don't see a point to wait on it. I doubt it's going to get much cheaper any time soon.

I like the idea but I wish there was more planet options and hope there will be more in the future, if any other DLC is released.
