I think it'd look better if the arms are modeled to look like there were small interconnected parts held together by forerunner wizardry than if it was textured in.


Bornsteller is so good of a modeler that he should be on the cover of Victoria Secret.â„¢

A fighter only shipyard and the frigate version. The frigate one wont be included to my knowledge but it will most likely be in Covenant at War.

I really enjoy working with forerunners, I don't know what it is but they just gel really well with my modelling style.

If we can find a use for them we'll feature both. But yeah we don't have many Forerunner plans yet in comparison to SotP   :P

Thanks man, my skills are coming along quite a bit. Besides I wanted to get these out of the way so I can focus on the modelling competition, it's gonna be sweet.

I'm guessing that the shipyard that produces these is an unmovable frigate that has no weapons and a Massive amount of health and shields

 

 

Edit: also another thing the sphere of the Onyx sentinel is it going to be Team coloured or is it not going to be team coloured. and if you could move the onyx factory would it be jump capable (which woud be beyond awesome)

I think the dev team will have them as immovable and invincible structures that can be captured and lost.

I'm not sure, if they have team colouring it'll probably be the glow of the beams or something.

Are the factories going to be armed in any way, or will their only defenses be the Sentinels they produce, and as for Sentinels, does the factory function more as a hanger, or are the sentinels going to count as actual ships?

 

Also, tangent, has anyone thought of having the factory move but be stuck in the gravity well vis-a-vis the Varsari starbase?

I'm not sure. If they wanted a formed together sentinel then I'd be easier to do it model wise, besides I like them in single ship formation and I'm not sure what the dev team likes.

I have an idea regarding the onyx sentinel combining ability, and a thread thoroughly explaining my idea in the playtester section, i just havent had someone approve of the idea yet. that being said, it hasnt been denied yet either.

Just thought I'd put up these nicer renders of the shipyard and the sentinel. Loved the portal in-game when I played SotP the other day, can't wait until these are in.
