Would you guys be open to the idea of using some of planets used in the Distant Stars mod in Sins of the Prophets (assuming you get the DS makers permission)?

Explain this. What planets are in this mod? Is the mod for entrenchment or trinity or rebellion? Some elaboration and detail is needed.

Oh, yeah. Well Distant Stars is for Vanilla Sins, Entrenchment, Diplomacy and Rebellion. It adds Desert planets (moon, dwarf and huge sizes), Ice planets (moon, dwarf and huge sizes), Terran planets (moon, dwarf and huge sizes), Volcanic Planets (moon, dwarf and huge sizes), planets without an Atmosphere (moon, dwarf and huge sizes), two Gas Giants (small, big) with two variants (stable, unstable), almost all Sol System planets/objects (Mars, Earth, Luna, Io, etc...), new home planets (Desert, Ice, Volcanic, Pirate Base), Ocean planets, Forrest planets, Urban planets, Barren planets, Toxic planets, Old Naval Base planets, Industrial planets, Paradise (tropical) planets, Savannah planets, Relic planets and Swamp planets.

So what do these planets do? Economically/Strategically what is different about the planets? Example what is different about an ocean planet vs a terran planet RTS wise? (yes i know one is all water rather than both)

I found this page, which may shed some light on abilities/bonuses in DS. However, I really don't care about them, I just thought if you could use the textures/models of DS planets (with permission of course) that could help add more variety to SotP.

I kinda noticed this was ignored. I really like the idea of at least different images and such. It would also add another element to the game. Not as repetitive.

No promises on Distant Stars specific planet-types, but I can say that another planet mod may be making an appearance. Tentatively, we're planning to include both the planets from that and Halo specific planets.

That's cool. I could see a Halo being either a planet or large moon. It basically acts like one so it wouldn't surprise me. The Ark could be an entire system, like in place of a star. I have no idea how you would fit a Shield World in...maybe just as another planet with absurd tactical and logistical space?
