Humans? in the Covenant??? I can see us in a co alliance with elites (cough cough Human-Forerunner War), but the prophets would just piss the hell out of us politically and religiously.

You mean the old Human-Forerunner War or the newest one? Because if you're talking about the Old War, we were allied with San 'Shyuum. At least in the beginning, then they betrayed us.

Did they?! I missed that. Pray tell?

Yeah, basically....ah wait you know that San 'Syuum are the Prophets, right? Just in case...

Well anyway, we were allied with the San 'Shyuum because they were advanced as us and we found them very attractive, at least this is what Bornstellar said. We had a strong alliance, but when Forerunners attacked they didn't fight last man standing but instead they surrendered and sworn submission to the Forerunners, leaving us to fight them alone. Then when Faber brought the Halo and the imprisoned Didact along with Riser and Chakas to their planet, they were like "Ew, take these people out of our sight, we surrendered to you and we don't wanna see Humans anymore. They're not our allies by a long time, we don't wanna have problems".

And then they were all killed by the Halo.

Some not all. The species had already had specimens taken to either the ark or another halo.

Knew the first half of that; not the last. Also, weren't they the ones who owned the Pheru? The things the flood dust got started on initially?

Some not all. The species had already had specimens taken to either the ark or another halo.

Yeah, relatively obvious, but an important point!

Is there any evidence that modern humanity or the covenant is aware of our past? I mean as rivals to the Forerunners. Is there any mention of archeologists getting hints of it in the books?

Well, Spark gains control of the mysterious ship in the mysterious fleet at the end of Primordium, and Bear never specified when Silentium is set, before or after the interrogation. Actually, he didn't specified many things. I really hope GS will make an appearance in the next Halo.

P.S. Look at you Born, just a couple days ago you cried that the Mod team was hating you, now you fix double posts. I'm going to tear up.

I agree that Spartans would be black ops and I think that normal marines would be below brutes and ODSTs would jostle with the brutes for that position.

We may have even been put above the prophets.

By who? Who would choose to put us above everyone else? The Prophets themselves? Would you put somebody above you in the hierarchical ladder just because it descends from a noble?

I think he's got a point. Truth, Mercy and Regret were hardly shining beacons of tolerance, if there had been alternative High Prophets or Ministers or whatnot who discovered humanity were reclaimers then things could have turned out differently. That said, knowing that there are about 10 billion + of your 'gods' and their tech is worse than yours is likely to be disillusioning.

It may rip apart the fabric of your very faith and lead large groups to fracture off and rebel... Hmmmm... Sounds like something I've heard before...

Any prophet would react the same way they did. They saw a threat to the very fabric that holds the covenant together so they attempted to eliminate it in order to preserve both their power and their way of life. Hardly an unnatural reaction.

Pre-Schism, not a chance. The Prophets would never accept Humanity because they knew only humans could activate some Forerunner tech. This would probably cause the covenant races to worship them as like ''children of the gods'' or some shit. Hence the Prophets (having no other input to the covenant) would be kicked out and Humanity would take control.

Also, Humans would never sign up to a religion they knew to be false, and in a mainly secular society it just wouldn't fit.

Post-Schism, I think so. With the Prophets gone, and the Brutes reduced to infighting, the Elites would be the top dogs. Humanity probably has more in common with Elites than any other Covenant race, so there is every chance they could unite and keep the Grunts and Mgalekgolo under them. The Drones would probably be slaughtered and the Jackals may be hired when needed.
