Yes you're right, IS is a state now, representing a target for the superior military of the coaltion, but they started out as just another Syrian/Iraqi terror network. Remember, the Taliban had their own state in Afghanistan too, but they were not defeated after the country itself was defeated. They are back now. ...gave me any reason to believe that an invasion of Syria would have a different effect. Just a massive waste of resources, a heap of innocent dead civilian, and a few years of semi stability for the local population until the the troops of whatever coalition did the fighting retreated.
