Addendum: Not exactly, but that's clickbait-y enough to get people to look. Lenovo installed very badly designed adware on some flavors of consumer-grade laptops and now it's getting exploited

That's not even close to the magnitude of badness. This pre-installed ADWARE comprimises the ENTIRE system. This is like being sold a car that sometimes steals things from you. Even worse, any random person walking by on the street can command it to steal from you. It's terrifyingly bad.
