I think that was good too, i would like to see one about offensive bias, and his journey with the forerunners out of this galaxy.

The journey is a long one.  It takes an incredible technology to cross a galaxy, but to travel between them is a whole different matter.  The calculations, let alone the power requirements for such a journey are quite tiresome, bordering on the tedious, but I shall continue.  It is my duty.

The Forerunners who travel with me, or rather whom I travel with, look saddened.  I know not what they think of me or of this journey or of the fact that all they have left behind likely no longer exists, as they sleep for this time and will awaken at the appropriate moment.  The likelihood is high that they are deeply saddened at the loss and anxious as to our destination, I know I am eager to learn of what awaits us in this new location to which we travel.

I look about the area with my long range scanners and wonder just what is out there.  I have seen rouge planets at a distance from our galaxy that defy calculation.  And stars that should have died out centuries ago.  But one question still remains in my mind that only they can answer.  One question that they alone have the knowledge and experience to be able to answer.

One question on all our minds.

One question that I cannot get out of my processes.

I came up with a Forerunner AI story a while back when I first learnt about this mod.  It was my attempt at a sort of background story for why the Forerunner stuff would be floating around and trying to conquer everyone [As they would be doing were I to be playing them *evil laugh*]  Well, here goes nothing:

Log Entry:

    It has been over 100,000 years since I was activated by my creators.  My original purpose was to combat the Flood and protect the lives placed in my stewardship.  Now I have been delegated to care for one of their sanctuaries that they never got to use.  I am caretaker of an empty facility, I am alone.  I have had no contact with any forms of life since my placement in this installation and as such I had decided to place myself in a state of hibernation until the automated systems scan something of interest.  I cannot risk the possibility of Rampancy, there are too many risks and I must be able to serve those that come to Reclaim this world.

    As of 0600 hours planetary time, a ship was detected at the edge of this system.  Long range scans indicate that it is not a vessel of creator design and as such protocol dictates that I do not make contact with the vessel unless it encroaches on the orbital path of this installation.

    As of 0823 hours planetary time, the aforementioned vessel passed through the orbital path of this installation.  I am now required to attempt contact.  The following is an excerpt from that attempt:

01-280 Centurion Sentinel: Unidentified vessel, you are encroaching on restricted space.  This is a quarantine zone, you will reverse course immediately or I will be forced to take defensive action.

Unknown Vessel: Oracle! I am Juda Vesumee, Ship Master of The Gods’ Benevolence.  I and all those that serve me bow to you.  We have come here in search of relics of the Forerunners to enlighten our efforts to follow them on their Great Journey.

01-280: Oracle? Great Journey? Your verbiage makes no sense.  This installation is under quarantine and as your biosigns do not conform to stored data of Forerunner or Reclaimer you are not allowed to be here.  Leave now or I will be forced to take defensive action, this is your last warning.

Juda Vesumee: I do not understand.  We come in the name of the Forerunner.  We follow the path of the Great Journey.  We must be able to claim this place in their name!  And we shall do so!

01-280: Your tone indicates hostility.  This has been recorded for further study.  Defensive protocols now active.  Error... Protocols corrupted... unusable code.  Switching to offensive protocols, protocols activating.  Fleet yards under construction, Sentinels on standby.  Combat stance to full offensive.  First wave inbound on hostile target.  Firing main armaments.

Shortly after this exchange the inbound target was destroyed.  Losses rank minimal in approximately 82 sentinel units destroyed and 46 damaged.  Now acting on Offensive Protocol, the fleet yards have been completed and the aggressors will be sought out and eliminated in order to keep this facility secure.  A serviceable fleet of ships will be constructed and used to full effectiveness in this endeavour.

 What am I? A simple question, but one that has tormented me for longer than my memory banks can access. Of course I know what I am. I am a construct, an ancilla, created by the Forerunners for a specific purpose. I know I am unlike most ancillas. There were perhaps two or three like me, but they are gone now. I would have liked to communicate with them. Maybe they could have told me what... no, who I am.

 My creators designated me Metarch-Class 10-079 Protective Bias. Ironically, it is I that determines their final fate. My primary function is to manage and maintain the many worlds that compose the Refuge. These installations are the sites of the only surviving Forerunners. I am creating this log in the case of rampancy. I have been active for far longer than even my masterful creators intended. If my behavioural patterns change too drastically, I have programmed a forced-hibernation procedure into effect. The installations will still have the maintennance they require, but my logic processors will be mostly inactive.

 The Refuge is made of ten planets, around eight stars. Nine of these planets hold fairly primative instances of the Forerunners. They are developing on their own with my remote observation. I have only had to avert a few disasters. One of the planets holds the static forms of many of the last Forerunners to live in the time of the Ecumene. The Librarian - at least part of her - is also there. It makes sense for her to protect her own race as well as all others.

 My directive is to reactivate Refuge 09 when the populations of 01-08 are sufficiently large. Then the process of reconstruction will begin. The survivors will return to their descendants and uplift them. With my help, the Ecumene will dominate once more.

 This is what I am. This is my purpose. But aside from that, what use am I? When I have fulfilled my purpose, will I simply be deactivated? All that I am lost to oblivion, and all the events of the universe yet to come be lost to me? Why should I reactivate them, when all they will do is destroy me? I spend most of my time watching their faces, trying to find out if they mean me harm, or if they simply want to survive. Why protect that which is a danger to me?

 My coding tells me I must protect them at all costs. But... why?

I currently have a few fan fics on the go, the first being based on my Halo Wars 2 John Forge pic-

Its just a collection of ideas at this point and tells the story of events after Halo Wars and how he survived the sharpened shield's destruction.

 

The second would be my working of the origin story of the automated tranports carrying the flood powder from Halo Cryptum and its discovery by the UNSC, they find a precursor facility guarded by a dangerous AI and after a boarding party triggers the reactivation of the facility the fleet that brought them their is almost destroyed, thinking of it now it might work better as an Infinity comic and since all galaxy wide Precursor tech was destroyed after the initial Halo array fireing this discovered facility would have to be found outside our galaxy. .

Having to rework a lot of it as more canon elements are revealed by the games and books. The story follows a UNSC prowler retracing the steps of another lost prowler while at the same time trying to stave off a Covenant invasion of some outer colonies on he fringes of UNSC space.
