granted, this was regarding mantles approach, and im not going to make them invincible, but this quote will be implemented gameplay wise to a certain extent

The SMACs will hopefully have more of an impact on gameplay as we are experimenting with doubling all health pools, but keeping damage the same to lengthen combat. The idea that a SMAC can now one shot a ship which you can't do anymore with any UNSC will be important and what we are after.

That's and interesting change. I didn't know you were thinking of doubling health pools, making it so that SMACs don't one hit Cov ships. That would certainly make the game play and combat more interesting. Thanks for the response from everyone!

SMACs, the orbital cannons, will still one hit ships. They'll be the only UNSC ship that CAN. Normal MACs no longer one hit ships.

The idea that a SMAC can now one shot a ship which you can't do anymore with any UNSC will be important and what we are after.

Too many double negatives here. Will the SMAC still be able to one shot ships?

Because i'm not sure if that statement is a yes or a no to that question.

After playing human players i find that SMACs are useless as defences even with a fleet, today i saw 18 squadrons rip through 20 sabre interceptors, then rip through my 30 plus makos defending the SMACS and all 14 Smacs are gone in less than 60 seconds. then wreck my fleet in orbit in less than 2 mins, with the fleet that launched the seraphs just sat on the edge of system destroying my minefields one mine at a time.
