Right let me put this situation to you, Scifi and myself were playing, me as UNSC and he was cov.

My fleet (unsc) Maximum Upgrades, no more fleet supply left, all combined into one fleet, at his homeworld attempting to force him to quit. Half of his fleet, Jumps into system and obliterates my fleet, only a couple of losses on his side, and they were to nukes. When i say obliterate it was more like decimate. All the meanwhile i'm watching the other half of his fleet flank me.

No way that was balanced.

As we speak Im fighting an Easy AI as UNSC fleet. Somehow he manages to replenish his fleet in minutes. For every ship i destroy there's 6 more to take its place.

Update: it ended badly 100 paris and 50 thanatos in one fleet, and a supercarrier, 2 carriers bumming them in another, PLUS a anchor fully equipped with fighters and spamming frigates, vs 3 DDS 20 CCs and 40 other ships, I'm constantly spamming in the next system to replenish the paris too, and yet every 4 seconds another CCS comes in system.

how many ships did you have, and how many ships did he have? if he has more than half as many ships as you, he has a very good chance of winning, and this is very likely for a covenant player.

Easky outnumbered him 3 to 1, plus i had a metric butt tone of fighters.

Mainly from level 9 carriers.

Sorry, but NOPE. i stayed up late nights when i was helping with the balance testing, and i can assure you, there is no need for a rebalance.

Well too bad we're doing a change anyways.

Sounds like you may have needed mines.  UNSC need every edge they can get.

EDIT:  Now by this I meant, you will not be able to defeat such a fleet in that engagement.  Go to your fortified chokepoint and devastate their fleet with everything you have (Anchor Stations, Sabers, SMACs, Mines, and your fleet), and you will need everything.  Mines are very useful in this case.  Once the enemy has been crushed on your terms and not theirs, counterattack.

The Machine is strong. We must purge the weak, hated flesh and replace it with the blessed purity of metal. Only through permanence can we truly triumph, only through the Machine can we find victory. Punish the flesh. Iron in mind and body. Hail the Machine!   - Paullian Blantar Iron-Father of the Kaargul Clan, Iron Hands Chapter.

We are going to be running through a couple experiments. Whether or not that will fix this issue or not Idk. We will let you know the specifics if we have something that works that we are going to implement. otherwise the balance is what the balance is. For 99% of others and myself playing as UNSC vs Covenant AI HARD I dont have that issue So perhaps you can get into a game with one of our playtester members who can re enact battles with you so you can describe to them what the problem was. Best advice I can give but dont rely on any changes we make to fix anything as they might not change how things work necessarily.

SPECTRE your problem was your lack of nukes, also we have made the UNSC's strike craft not very useful against the covenant. We decided that the UNSC bombers would only do their full damage to the UNSC to the Covenat however they do less damage. To fix the nuke issue use Marathons they are cheap and have double MACs in addition to the shiva they carry. Trust me this is a very effective stratagy. Rovert has showed me this many times. I cannot say that I have beat him in any engagement even as the Covenant. That being said changes aref on the way.

The nukes were carried by the carriers. Also the carriers were behind the enemy firing thier macs.

Nukes are rubbish, they aim at the same target, then instead of 3 nukes gone and 3 targets, i have only one target ad no nukes left. Useless in my playstyle.

While all you guys are talking about SPECTRES fleet problems of our game, i was going through glassing every world i cam across, while he fought for his life in said game. But spectre, the problems might be that the A.I. was higher than what you were used to, as a matter of fact, to me it seemed the A.I. was underperfoming for the setting it was on, but then again, thats just me. And id have to agree with def, you cant have enough nukes. And i say balance was pretty spot on, well in some ways, actually. A thing ive noticed, is that the A,I, late game will often through a huge fleet a ships at you using all the fleet supply, and for UNSC, since you are relying on a 3:1 ratio, that can be bad, granted enough nukes and MACS, and you can win, but it is still a big pain in the butt.

No it was the difficulty you were giving me, the AI was easy. I reppelled every assault he threw at me without needing to use my fleets (mines FTW!)

I was giving you? half our match was our combined assault. Granted, i harassed that one colony, but that AI was giving you a rough time from my perspective.

You have to micromanage nukes for maximum effect. Disable autocast if the AI is wasting them. There's usually ample time after jumping into a gravity well to alt-click a Marathon, then cycle through the selection with the tab button and select different targets for the nukes. If you're playing single player you can even pause to micromanage. I've even seen Rovert use some of his multiplayer pauses to micromanage during an encounter with the Flood.
