Yeah for some reason in Halo 4 you have to be right next to any particle for it to show up. Explosions were pretty lack luster to say the least.

I just love the newest feature in Halo 4. The guns disappearing within 15 seconds. Best feature ever!
Help me Sergeant I'm lost in Kurfluffle land!

Reach's graphics are more consistent.
Halo 4's are better.

The explosions thing was more of a balancing issue than them wanting their game to be less pretty.
Its also way easier to claim a dull dark game has better graphics than a bright game. Think about when Gears of War was first released. People were hyping it to have awesome graphics. But they never could hold a candle to Halo 3.

That's Computer Graphics though.

Halo 4's cinematics are still WAY higher quality than Reach's though.

Graphically speaking, yes. Generally speaking, no. They lack the atmosphere Reach had.

Halo 4's cinematics are pre-rendered and just played over in the game. In Reach and every Bungie game before it, all the cinematics we're in-game so it didn't break immersion. Besides, just looking at Carter's armor in the screenshot you posted has more defined details than Master Chief's armor in Halo 4.
As for disappearing weapons and effects due to "balance," if it were the better game, it wouldn't need such "balance." Holding a candle to Halo 3? Halo 3 is a highly polished game, and although now you can tell the models are low detail and rely too heavily on normal maps, the game still looks amazing. Never was a fan of Gears, it didn't have purple flowers.

Halo 4 was so rushed, and you can tell by balancing slipping into campaign, if they had any sense they would have made campaign first like in H3.
Reach had similar issues.

Halo 3's campaign's story was a bit of a let down to be honest. Needed more Sangheili.

I think there should have been more dialogue, including the two other elites, and i think that the cutscene before going to the ark should have been WAY longer.

personally i think chief is going to turn against human and ONI Is gonna have there shit rocked.
... Er book spoliers..sorry on a phone.
---------
Sense UNSC now has an entire Shield world under there control...is it really that far fetched for more then one infinity?
Not really a spoiler if you consider the intro cutscene of Halo 4 were the idea of replacing MC is discussed,
think the chief might have something to say about that.

Also now that I think about it. ONI taking control of the UNSC with multiple Infinity-class vessels is plenty dark.

I've read Thursday War and I'm not seeing how its possible to mass produce the Infinity class, even the A.I.s could not keep up with or even have a compete understanding of what the Hurogok were really doing to the ship with all of the modifications tthey were making and they had barely scratched the surface of its capabilities, unless they just have shipyards stocked with thousand of them and just say "hey y'know that big ship that took us 20 years to build and the bulk of our military budget, could you please build another 15 to 20 more of them and have them ready by friday? thanks in advance, enclosed a basket of muffins for the trouble"
Think the UNSC might fall into the same trap of the covenant as they were building vastly powerful warships with no understanding of the fundamentals of how they work and what it takes to keep them running.
The UNSC might just end up with a smaller stripped down version with a fraction of the originals abilities, hey you got any more of those Forerunner engines left lying around?

Let's be real here. Humanity went from getting the piss and tar kicked out of them and being weeks away from total extinction according to Halsey, to the "giants" in the galaxy. Them constructing new Infinities because of "lol Huragok" is quite possible given the other crap 343 has done with the lore.
That being said, having ONI essentially make the same mistakes as the Covenant and losing because of it would be some delicious irony.

ONI dosent have the power. They couldn't keep the infinity a secret due to the budget, hence why ONI "shares" infinity with FLEETCOM. The rest of the UNSC will either financially fall apart or simply not allocate the resources to more infinity class, though they could build a cheap knock off like they did with the autumn class to the PoA.Let's be real here.
