It wasn't just reach it was the other planets in system; Tribute, beta Gabriel, circumstance and Tantalus.

Its like the English channel. One huge multiplier effect.

Yeah, and Sol System has colonies on Mars, Luna, and Europa.  Epsilon Eridani still had more traffic, granted this is likely more due to the massive military activity, but it was also the largest non-automated exporter of titanium in all the colonies.

I imagine that the only ways to get to sol would be epsilon eridani. Funnel any potential threats through a security hub first.

Don't forget Castillo, and Ganymede.

I'm talking from a security perspective.

Remember this was a government that had Convoys rather than individual ships.

Yes after Cole Protocol. Before the Human Covenant war that wasn't done.

To get back on topic, I like the idea of the infinity taking the place as the capital planet should it ever fall. Halo 4 quote: "This things the size of a city! How's it being overrun!?"

The answer is a no. Not going to happen.

But...that's what it's supposed to be.

Not happening gameplay trumps canon.

Why exactly would that trump game play?  The Vasari have it and its not gamebreaking even with their haxx mobile labs on top of it.

Lol Mobile Ruleship being worth a damn. That's funny.

The only time when it actually was worth anything is when Strip to Core was absurdly broken back in the beta.

In any case I could stick it on Infinity and give zero shits. This case gameplay doesn't trump cannon since it doesn't bloody matter if I put it on or not.

How much is this going to affect our gameplay and balance?

Im not seeing how this could be canon, is it that in the event of the earths destruction mankind could continue on the Infinity?
Wont they have the same issue they had in battlestar, granted the pop diversity would be slightly larger humanity could not sustain itself longterm confined to a metal box with engines. Lets not forget the Prophets, for thousands of years confined to high charity, they are a dying race being prolonged through artificail means with a stagnant gene pool, their fate was sealed the moment they left their homeworlds atmosphere. So ingame if you lose the homeworld and you have infinity, mankind is already dead, they just dont know it yet, after several decades with the limited gene pool the human race would be extinct.

I don't really agree with this but there is canon that somewhat backs it up. Not sure where it's stated but the UEG started moving major industrial facilities and even HQs outside of the sol system, since whenever the Covenant found Reach the UNSC knew they were weeks away from extinction. However, Earth was pretty much seen as humanities' last stand and after that they were fucked. This is emphasized with the 300ish SMAC platforms in orbit and the home fleet which was fairly large. Gameplay wise, I don't see Mobile Rulership being useful at all when playing against another player/an AI, since by the time you lose your homeworld your fate is more or less sealed. The only place I could see it being useful is for the multi-hour struggles against the Flood, and that's if they are given infection immunity (which would be incredibly broken if they didn't get it imo)

Look guys Mobile rulership doesn't even apply to titans alone. If we do it for Infinity we would have to do it for all UNSC Capital ships and starbases. That includes the Autumn which is no where near the size required now this discussion is finished.
