elites - sangheilli - high ranking military/protecting prophets
jackals - kig yar - salvagers (technically)
brutes - jiralhanae - like elites but not as high ranking until the great schism
grunts - uggnoy - CANNON FODDER
drones - yan'mee - technicians
hunters - lekgolo/mkalekgolo - maintenance/operation of covenant machines such as scarabs, and heavy weapons during battle
