The ship in the background from the Spartan Ops is in both direct and indirect lighting. The top part is receiving light while the bottom isn't, and its white. The closest one in the shot does look the most accurate, but even at the end of Halo 4 the ships are textured white. I don't know if this is a specular error or a lighting error on both accounts, but the ships have so far appeared white.

^Indeed, although in Commissioning it does appear light grey.  I'm hoping they go with this one.

Actually those aren't the proper look of the ships particularly for the carrier

Update: Halopedia is right Stephen Loftus hints that the vessel labeled as Carrier in concept art isn't likely to be a carrier.

Any ways what we see in Halo 4 are brushes not proper models and textures. They also said in the Q&A that those who are astute with halo ships would be able to figure out which is which. And given how we see one of the ships used in Spartan Ops I'm inclined to believe that that ship is a carrier.

Nah Stephen Loftus states that its the other ship that it is not safe to assume that that ship is the carrier.

Stephen Loftus doesn't work for 343i so idk why you take his word to heart.

Because he collaborated with 343i on the scale for vessels in the Halo 4 Essential Visual Guide, and considering that these ships were originally going to be in said guide, I'd say he's a pretty authoritative source.

They were pulled. 343i can do what they want with the ships. I'd say we have pretty clear evidence from in game of what ship is likely the carrier.

No we really don't.  The ship releasing Pelicans is hardly compelling proof when every ship in the UNSC fleet seems to have a wing of Pelicans.  Also Loftus is an affiliate of 343i he'd know whether or not it was a carrier.  I'll take someone's opinion who's worked on two sourcebooks for 343 above fan speculation any day of the week.
