Whoever was in charge of the defense of reach was a n00b
There wasn't a single SMAC in sight, just one starbase, barely anything resembling a mine, and a disgusting lack of frigate spam.

Reach had 20 SMACs in orbit. That's what knocked out the SDV over Sword Base. It had plenty of nuclear mines too, if I recall. The defense fleet was massive by canon standards.

Well I mean no he wasn't, he was talking about the game, where there were zero SMACs and just the station and we also see only about two UNSC ships :I

Both the book and the game take place alongside and after/before eachother.
What I want is the halo campaigns to go over 10 levels.
Halo 2 was pretty long, why not have another one.

The book and the game are not even close to that. I'm not even going to start with the issues between the two. What I will say is in the book Reach was a couple of days at most, in the game it was over a month.
the battle of reach, which is when the entire covenant fleet showed up, was a couple of days, yes

No, I mean pertaining to the book and the game. Even when the entire fleet showed in the game, it still took 16 days for the fall of Reach to be over. 16 DAYS.

carthage wasnt destroyed in a day

You're completely missing the point. In the book all of the events on Reach transpired in a couple of days, the end of August. Halo: Reach starts in mid-late JULY and ends when the actual book does.carthage wasnt destroyed in a day

Huge discrepancie.
youre missing my point as well, the covenant fleet doesnt arrive at the very beginning of halo: reach, it shows up much later in the game
