Could a ship ram another ship???

Is it possible for a ship to have an abilitie that would allow it to ram another ship
couse that would be cool

It's possible to have an ability that does such a thing.


It would look terrible.
It would be buggy.
It will never be included.

We could simulate that, but it wouldn't actually be ramming the ship. It's not very sexy in Sins.


I imagine that you would have to use the way a mine is tripped when a ship "collides" with it. Where they dont really touch just the boxes that mark out their places do.

this is basically speculation because i dont know the fine details of how this would ever work, but from what i understand about sins, ramming a ship into another ship would actually consist of a ship getting very close to another ship and then target explodes without either ship touching because ships can never touch in sins (i love that part of sins btw)

No, not true. Ships can collide. If they're too close together... Of course, it does nothing and the game tries to rectify that ASAP, but yeah...

It amazes me how many times people ask for a ram ability. Don't get me wrong, it would be cool as shit… if, IF the Sins engine could do it…

Try the Sins of the 13th tribe mod ( Battlestar galactica mod ) the Pegasus got that ability where it rams the enemy ship looks quite good in terms of sins I have to say.

You see, it would be a small range circle, so the Pegasus class had to get extremly close. It does 6K damage.
