I know the huragok isn't the shield themselfs, personally I just don't believe that the unsc would limit the use of shields to one ship and it's escorts. I guess we will have to wait and see where 343 takes the lore.

Given a long time frame I agree, but I seriously doubt they've retrofitted all UNSC ships with shield tech at the end of Halo 4. It would be priority for ONI ships to get it first, aside from the stuff attached to Infinity.

Really? The forerunners seem to do alright against them.

 

Key word in that phrase is "alright" and the precursor's also did not expect that the Forerunners would turn on them aka Surprise was on the Forerunner side.

At the very most the shields would be outfitted on new model ships. It wouldn't make sense to retrofit an old hull design with shields when you are planning on replacing it. Your spending money for no reason.

Oh, don't get me wrong I don't believe every ship would have shields so soon. I just got a bit worried that only the Infinty and it's escort would be given shields in sotp. Sorry for not being clearer.

The dev team keeps as close to canon as possible, and right now that IS canon for what they and we know.

 The other ships seen in Halo 4 will likely not make it into the game, but may if we decide we have time to dick with them and come up with good reasons to include them gameplay-wise.

"Other ships"? Other than Infinity, new Charon (Oh and btw guys, THAT is definitely a Charon), Halcyon and CCS I can't remember anything else, and all these are already (or will be) in the game.

by other ships, Uni means the ships that appear at the end of the broadsword run in the level "Midnight" where you attempt to take out those particle cannons

On the mission "Midnight" in Halo 4, we can see a unidentified Frigate-class in the background. Even though this Frigate is of a unknown class, I think it'd still be cool for you guys to add it. Here's my source.
