because while WE know them as forerunners I highly doubt that they would call themselves the forerunner remnant...

 

for example in the forerunner trilogy the referred to themselves as the Ecumene. with the Ecumene council running their society.

 

so why not Ecumene remnants instead of the forerunner remnants

Because not enough people have read the books and we would have people all over Moddb whinging it up.

In the books they do refer to themselves as 'Forerunner'.

Isn't Ecumene the official/formal name for the empire/government system and not the race itself, "The Ecumene is the formal name of the galaxy-spanning Forerunner empire which existed over 100 thousand years ago and consisted of three million or more planets." (-halo.wikia)
It sounds more like it refers to the government/empire then the people themselves.

I wasn't quoting stargate. I was stating the fact that some of the forerunners "ascended" into digital forms. As you Covenant and UNSC would think of them

Click on your photo in the top right.
Then click on "Edit my Profile"
Scroll down and you can edit your title and location and etc.
The oath should look like this "

1. Sins of the Prophets
2. → My control panel
3. → Settings
4. → Profile Settings"
   
   Alternatively you could just click the Profile settings there and it should take you to the page .
   
   
   
   
   Also that ounds like a great line for the Forerunners.

Well i got the checkmate. End of halo 4 when the Didact is narrating. He says, "We are Forerunners" Meaning he has referred to his people as forerunners meaning that box is now open.

 

We know them as forerunners, canon knows them as forerunners, we will call them the forerunner remnant because thats what they are. I am not opposed to using the council  terminology in their research tree for people who understand that nomenclature to have a nice throwback to the book like the Deja Ai for the UNSC.

How about we call them "Holy ones" (which the covenant would call them), "The Creators" (because they could create worlds). There is "The Ancients" but i think people would think of Stargate too much.

That's what they are. They are called that, they call themselves that. Why the hell should we differentiate now?

Because We're SotP, fans we bow down to the creators, and also because the time the mod was set in, I don't think the UNSC would know what to call them.

When the forerunners are implemented, the mod will be post halo 4. They know what the forerunners are called.

But then it would change the mod's views completely, and how would you know that?
