Patch notes:

Patch I

Rebellion

 

Covenant

 

-Removed corvette "covenant gunboat" ship due to it not being what we desired.

-Moved the SDV corvette to be the new covenant siege frigate and added 2 fighter squadrons.

It will behave like the SDV did in Halo:Reach, no shields, low damage but able to siege planets. (still a place holder model)

-Moved the CPV Heavy destroyer to combat role, it will be able to tank and help defeat unsc frigates more effectively now.

-Doubled their shields and hull HP pool

-Made the Super Destroyer able to target 4 ships at a time.

-Increased Covenant strikecraft squad sizes and how many squads ships can field.

-Made the Picket the AA ship of the covenant replacing the SDV.

-The CAR frigate will be the starting frigate.

-Changed Covenant Tech Tree to remove certain technologies and consolidated others.

-Buffed the DDS carrier.

-Removed Random Chance abilities from all covenant ships.

-Buffed Repair Station ability

-Reduced Super Destroyer's supply cost to 175

-Removed duplicate unlock text in researches

-Gave a bunch of ships icons

 

 

 

UNSC

 

-Moved the Eion to militia fleets

-Moved the Athens from Capital ship to a normal Carrier

-Buffed the Athens/Phoenix/Super carrier(Trafalgar) with Deck guns. Essentially will do more damage to enemy ships. They will not have AAA guns to enhance the mako/stalwarts role in the fleet. 

-Non AA ships (Everything but the mako/stalwart) will have their AA reduced to be 1/4 effective as a Stalwart/Mako. So youd need 4 paris classes to equal 1 Stalwart/mako in AA defense.

-Doubled their HP pool.

-Increased damage of all UNSC strikecraft to be equal to their covenant counterparts

-Increased fighters per squad count for all UNSC squads to match their covenant counterparts

-Doubled SMAC damage from 30,000 to 60,000.

-Shiva Nukes are no longer available at level 1, but require Level 2 capital ships.

-Buffed Repair Station and Cradle's repair abilities

-Valiant and Defensive Coordination's range boosting ability no longer stack; Defensive Coordination's ability now affects all ships (sans strikecraft)

-Reduced Charon bombing by 50%.

-Super Carrier buffed with faster firing MAC and more damage to its missiles.

-Super Carrier reduced in cost

-Super Carrier increased in fleet supply.

-Removed New Blood ability, added Instantly Build Fighters and Coordinated Bombardment abilities to Super Carrier

-Improved Fleet Coordinate ability

-Halcyon reduced in fleet supply.

-Buffed Cradle's self-repair

-Removed all random chance abilities from UNSC ships.

-Removed duplicate unlock text in researches

-Buffed SMAC's health

-Reduced Marathon research tier by one

-Reduced Orion's supply cost

 

Flood

 

-Ships are now disabled for 10 seconds after capture.

-Flood cant take neutral extractors

-Improved behavior

-Flood debuff is curved so late game it is actually a buff

 

 

General

 

-Flagship mode is now working. UNSC gets a supercarrier and the Covenant get an Assault Carrier.

-Added a new, redesigned, XP system for kills to balance out leveling capital ships.

-Balanced out Capital ship level purchasing ability for SotP.

-Removed starting free capital ship to prevent an exploit where a Covenant player could get a free Super Destroyer or CAS. Increased starting resources by the cost of a Pheonix capital to compensate.

-Removed antimatter cost for slipspace jumping

 

 

When will the patch be out? Soon. Whenever we can all sync up and agree for sloose to put it on moddb. But that should be arriving very soon.

Some of these changes are subject to change AND Lavo and Rovert will be updating this list with whatever I may have forgotten. 

 

Mother of Invention is getting a nerf. It will behave more like a normal paris or a slightly upgraded one so it will be more of a, "Oh hey look its the MoL". VS "OMG It DESTROYED MY WHOLE FLEET"

I really like the UNSC updates.
Will the eion still be available to UNSC players?
How many squadrons will the Athens now have?
What is the exact fleet supplies?
Also I'm not sure what I think about the SDV I think it should be spammable, but with fighters it might be a bit OP for bombardment role. What happens if you get a fleet of 10 and put them in system? You have 20 squadrons to kill their defences, then you can bombard them. I personally don't think it should bombard, but instead it should invade very very slowly.

Wow, i love the mod for Reb so far, i have been having a ton of fun with it.

Thanks for the response. Can't wait :)

 

I also remember talks of a possible choice research option at the last stage of the UNSC Research tree. EITHER Sheilds for some/most/every unit OR Large bonuses to income and resources. Does anyone know if this is still happening in the future or if it has been dismissed as i thought that was a great idea.

 

Would also like to note a few people may say it is not cannon, and it may not be, but we know the UNSC has sheild tech as it is used on the infinity.

That late game tech is being discussed but will probably be released with the Infinity. The SDV has no shields and virtually no weapons. The fighters were added because the Covenant retain their fighter supremacy and since their fighters arnt just plain better then they need more of them. It will eventually get a particle (once we have the model and texture) that will look like its invading but for now it just has a placeholder plasma bombardment. Balance wise teh SDV is tricky but Its not a CPV ship killer that can bomb. Remember kids, it took the Savannah, a paris class, a while to die while only using its point defense guns. And it has no shields. Trust me, if you send a fleet of SDVs at a planet, and you are guarding it with a small fleet of paris classes youll win hands down. At least thats the idea as we balance it. Bombard and invading are just different particle effects, same mechanical idea. The Athens will carry the Eion compliment for now and we will been keeping an eye on the things balance wise. Essentially the Athens is taking over the Eions role as four carriers (Eion, Athens, Trafalgar, Phoenix) were overlapping way too much. This allows the athens to serve primary role as fleet carrier, the phoenix as a specialized troop transport/siege carrier, and the trafalgar to essentially be a UNSC battleship with fighters.

 

Um the Thanatos is going to be like 12 Fleet supply. The SuperCarrier is at 50. The halcyon is 15. And the Athens will be 20 still.

 

No the Eion will no longer be available to the UNSC. It will replace the Thanatos in militia fleets

All ships and structures have had their hull and shields doubled (before you ask... 2 * 0 still = 0) so now battles last a little longer.

They've been buffed. You should enjoy the new Cradle.
