I can only assume that Spartan Games and 343i wanted to keep to a "classic" template. Though I would not put it past the UNSC to have similar ships, I mean all the frigates look very similar.
So how are you guys going to handle the new canon ships?

Looking similar and smashing together ships are two entirely different things.

@Bakelit
I completely agree with you, it looks rather decent. It could have been far worse looking if you ask me.

On it's own, I think that their Valiant doesn't look too bad and it would be fine as a class of light/medium cruiser, however it simply is not THE Valiant class. Definitely not Fleet C&C material.

I'd see it as an URF ship tbh, simply because it looks out of place as a command cruiser. Even the Marathon had a study look to it.

Oh, that's an idea. I like that, given their limited resources they took the best parts of three ships (or the least damaged of savaged ships) and strapped them together to make something else.

Now that I think about it, Spartan's Valiant looks similar to SoTP's Orion.
There are several differences, but they both have 2 "Prongs" for the first third of the ship, and a Marathonish midsection the next 1/3.
Orion pulls it off better though, FAR better.

They had to sell all their tungsten to the Arbiter so he could realize his dream of being a cooking show host without melting is counter top with his energy knives. Sick xkcd what-if reference.

Tungsten was deemed too expensive to use as ammunition so the UNSC is slowly converting their guns to fire crew members out of them instead.
That'd be the plot of the next Spartan Project.

You didn't really think Infinity needed all 18,000 of it's crew members, did you?
